You can grab the enhanced PS5 version 100% free right now, but this error is likely to be fixed soon — so act fast!
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun got a PlayStation 5 upgrade yesterday, adding faster loading times, 60FPS and 4K support to the party-based tactical stealth title set during the Edo period in Japan.
It was a complimentary upgrade for owners of the PS4 version, but there’s currently a sneaky workaround to get it free, even if you’ve never owned Blades of the Shogun before.
However, it looks like a glitch, so as fast if you want to add it to your library.
How to get Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun free on PlayStation
In order to grab yourself a free copy of Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun, you’ll first need to be signed in to you PlayStation account.
Once you’ve done that, head to the Blades of the Shogun demo page and add it your library.
(We’ve linked to the US page below, but you’ll need to visit your local PlayStation Store for these steps to work.)
Then go to the listing for the standard edition of the game.
It should now be showing as free to add to your collection… so go ahead 😉
And that’s all there is to it. The page should refresh and show you’ve ‘purchased’ the game, giving you access to it on PS4 and PS5. Enjoy!
