The once-cancelled MMORPG returns under a new title, offering an open world packed with challenges and adventures.
Blue Protocol: Star Resonance launched today on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) and mobile devices. It’s completely free to play if you want to give it a shot.
Originally developed by Bandai Namco and published by Amazon Games under the title Blue Protocol, the anime MMORPG struggled in Japan and eventually went the end-of-service route before ever getting a global release.
The project has since been revived by Shanghai Bokura Network Technology, and today’s launch marks the debut of their version.
Set in an open fantasy world, Blue Protocol: Star Resonance lets you step into the role of an anime-style hero. You can choose from several classes like Verdant Oracle, Shield Knight, Frost Mage, or Marksman, each representing familiar roles such as DPS, Support, or Tank. The game also offers cross-play between PC and mobile devices.
