Weekend plans? Where we’re going (nowhere), we don’t need weekend plans.
Can you hear that? It’s the sound of the weekend edging near. And that other sound? It’s the reassuring arrival of Xbox Free Play Days at the door. Knock knock, are you going to let them in? They’ve brought gifts!
Yep, 5 games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to enjoy, and non-subscribers even get a chance to join in with another title this week.
And if you enjoy deals on games (which we’re 99.97% sure you do), you’ll love what the Xbox Store is offering up this week:
Xbox Free Play Days (December 4-7, 2025)
It used to be the case that you needed a Game Pass subscription on Xbox to take part in Free Play Days, but Microsoft has been slowly opening things up over the past few weeks.
And while that might make things a little more convoluted, it ultimately means more people get to play games, which can’t be a bad thing.
This week, Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members can play as much Bassmaster Fishing, Everspace 2, and Astria Ascending as they can handle on both PC and console, until December 7, with those same tiers also granting access to Destiny 2‘s The Witch Queen, Lightfall, and The Final Shape expansions (D2’s base game is always free to play).
Way of the Hunter is also available on Xbox Series X|S to those same members.
And even if you don’t subscribe to Game Pass, Descenders has been opened up for all Xbox One and Series X|S players to enjoy through Sunday.
Want to download these titles straight to your console? As long as you’ve granted to necessary permissions on your console, you should be able to do that via their Xbox Store links:
