  • Torerowa, the roguelike dungeon crawler, is now in its fourth open beta
  • This version brings a massive overhaul to exploration, new items and further additions
  • You can now also enjoy a choice between PvE and PvP combat

Torerowa, the roguelike multiplayer dungeon crawler, has announced it will be holding a fourth open beta that starts today. This will allow you to get your hands on the latest build of this upcoming release, with the most significant updates and additions so far.

Torerowa is best described as a mixture of extraction ‘shooter’ Dark and Darker and a classic isometric JRPG. You’ll engage in real-time combat against monsters as you navigate an immense dungeon seeking out treasure, all with the objective of getting out with both your life and your loot intact.

This newest open beta will introduce a number of significant additions. To start off, we’ve got four new item types – the Belt, Ring, Amulet and Charm, with the latter only being dropped by monsters and offering special bonuses. Echo Traits, meanwhile, will offer over 150 randomised bonuses to further switch up your loadout, with up to five of them per piece of gear.

Hack ‘n slash

Dungeon exploration has also seen an overhaul in OBT four, as you’ll now find that maps start hidden and will need to be uncovered with the use of Sonars found in the dungeons. Maps will also be further randomised on each run, meaning you’ll face new surprises each time.

You can also now switch between PvP and PvE modes in the menu depending on your preference. Monsters will begin swarming when in groups, and new traps have been introduced, so you’ll need to be careful where you tread when avoiding the dangerous beasties of the dungeon.
