Upcoming Marvel game will have a closed alpha test in May. Here’s how to sign up

Players will be able to check out this new (super)hero shooter at no cost.

Fans of superhero games had to swallow a bitter pill with the recent release of DC’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which didn’t manage to capture too many hearts. Will Marvel Rivals find more success? PC gamers will soon be able to assess the game’s potential during the closed alpha playtest.

The game will be a free-to-play online hero shooter with teams of six players wreaking havoc on maps based on locations known from the big screen. Think Overwatch—but with Marvel’s characters. If it sounds interesting to you, here’s how to sign up for the Marvel Rivals alpha, which is set to begin in May (though no exact date has been revealed as of yet).

What’s the Marvel Rivals alpha content?

The developers promise that closed alpha players will be able to test “over a dozen” characters, including Black Panther, Spider-Man, Magneto, and Scarlet Witch, as well as check out just how much the environment is prone to destruction. They also pointed out that the alpha’s main purpose will be to collect feedback and detect all kinds of bugs and glitches.
