- Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus is part of the new Warhammer Skulls showcase
- The showcase will provide the newest faction to join Tacticus
- More Imperials? Chaos? Or mayhap the Xenos will get some love?
Like it or loathe it, Snowprint Studios’ Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus is arguably the definitive way to experience Warhammer on mobile. But even those who aren’t fans couldn’t deny that its roster of factions is quite beefy, and now it’s set to expand even further with a brand new addition!
What is it? Well, there’s the rub, because we don’t know yet. The news is set to be revealed May 22nd as part of the annual Warhammer Skulls gaming showcase, alongside some mighty discounts for all manner of grimdark gaming in the far future, Old World and beyond.
With over a dozen factions already available in Tacticus, that leaves a surprisingly slim avenue of possibilities. We could, of course, get another Imperium or Chaos spin-off, but in the realm of xenos, there are certain factions that could use some love, and I have my own personal theory.
Rock and stone
Were I to pitch my own guess for what Tacticus’ next faction would be, I would guess that the recently-released Leagues of Votann could be a distinct possibility. This faction of deep space mining, hard-drinking and cloned definitely-not-dwarves was a surprise addition to the 40k universe.
A gaming appearance would be a big step towards making people more aware of this interesting faction. Of course, we’ll probably just get something like Grey Knights or the Inquisition, but be sure to tune in at 9am PST, 12pm EST, 5pm BST and 6pm CEST to find out for yourself at the Warhammer Skulls showcase on twitch!
In the meantime, though, if Tacticus isn’t enough to strain your strategic abilities, why not try some of the other great options out there? We’ve ranked them in our list of the top 25 best strategy games on iOS and Android for all you budding Napoleons and Sun Tzu’s out there!
