A little under a year since it first launched, Kuro Games’ Wuthering Waves has cemented itself as a new favourite of the action RPG genre. Unsurprisingly, with its first anniversary around the corner, there’s already plenty of celebrations in the offing, not least being an upcoming high-profile collaboration.
Wuthering Waves’ upcoming anniversary livestream, airing via YouTube on April 19th, will reveal more details about the hotly anticipated upcoming character Zai, new events and other anniversary details. More than that, however, it’ll give us our first glimpse of Wuthering Waves’ upcoming collaboration with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
As a hit anime adaptation of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, itself based on the legendary Mike Pondsmith’s genre-defining TTRPG, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners needs little introduction. While it’s not yet clear what form this collab will take, it’s pretty reasonable to expect cosmetics, in-game events and even crossover characters.
Chromed up
With version 2.3 set to launch April 29th, even if you’re not particularly interested in collaborations, I’ve no doubt that many devoted Wuthering Waves fans reading this will be excited to see what new anniversary content they can look forward to. A previously released trailer, shown above, seems to indicate we can expect some pretty tongue-in-cheek fun.
The trailer shows off the main cast, now turned into stylised cubes, teasing that the “Justice Cubes” will have to take on the “Evil Cube”.
