Cyberpunk 2077 has been a long time coming, and there’s still a long time yet to go before you’re going to be able to play it – even if that lengthy gameplay demo was looking very good. In a new video on the making of the game, CD Projekt Red makes it clear that “Cyberpunk 2077 may no longer be the mystery it once was, but work on it is far from over.”

Scottish National Party MP Hannah Bardell has called for a government review of tech companies and gaming platforms following the controversy around Rape Day, a visual novel-style game which let players rape and murder women in an apocalyptic setting. The game has since been removed from Steam, but critics say it never should have had the chance to get there in the first place.
Valve has confirmed that 13 full time employees were laid off at Valve last month, and a number of contractors were let go at the same time. The exact nature of those layoffs are undisclosed, but many of those affected seem to be from the company’s VR and hardware division. Valve was working on new VR hardware as recently as last year, though much of that work wasn’t presented to the public.

EA will not host a press conference at E3 this year. The company will host its usual EA Play event the weekend ahead of the show, but it will not have a formal presentation showing its upcoming games. There’ll be live streams throughout the event which will offer details on the new stuff, but the traditional press conference is dead.
