With the closure of Call of Duty: WWII Open Beta weekend, we’ve had a glimpse of how the game will perform on PC master race, and it seems that it’s made a huge improvement from last year’s futuristic look at the Call of Duty franchise across the board. So much so that statistically speaking, the Call of Duty: WWII beta had 5X more player than Infinite Warfare last year.
Renowned Australian puppeteer Richard Bradshaw knows a thing or two about shadow puppetry. Defiant Development stole the show with highly successful RPG Hand of Fate back in 2015, and it’s ready to raise the stakes with Hand of Fate 2, the chillingly good-looking sequel. The classic deck building, minigames, and realistic diversion into third person combat is making a return at PAX Aus, but new storylines, bosses and explorable regions plus never before seen content will be unveiled during the three day gaming extravaganza.
It’s not everyday you get to relive the era of hand drawn animation in a video game. But Cuphead defies all trends and expectations, putting you in charge of an anthropomorphic cup who looks like he’s been plucked out of a Fleischer cartoon. Originally announced for Sony’s PS4, the NioH: Complete Edition will be making it’s way to PC via Valve’s platform this November.
Passion project Aura of Worlds is Cognitive Forge’s take on the immortal 2D platformer genre. Prioritising improvisation and exploration, it has players guide a miniature hooded adventurer through seven totally randomised levels. And when you’re fleeing tides of lava, dodging necromancers or weaving through flooded corridors, it’s pretty hard to stay still.
Sony has announced that a new model of the PlayStation VR headset is on its way, set to arrive first in Japan before making its way to other territories.
