Within the League of Villains, Dabi, formerly known as Toya Todoroki, is undeniably one of the strongest characters in My Hero Academia. With his Blue Flames that possess far greater destructive power than Endeavor’s Hellflame, Dabi can effortlessly engulf the battlefield in an active inferno.
However, Dabi’s rise to power in My Hero Academia did not come easy. Before Dabi unlocked his strongest forms, he nearly died from the life-threatening injuries that came with using his Quirk. Driven by his desire to destroy Endeavor’s hero career and uphold Stain’s ideals, Toya Todoroki abandoned his former identity and continued living as the villainous Dabi.

Dabi’s End-of-War Form Left His Body Completely Broken
Shoto Todoroki’s second Great Glacial Aegir attack froze Dabi’s body from the inside out, ultimately bringing the villain down. Although Dabi survived the attack, his body suffered life-threatening injuries, leaving him in a severely weakened and vulnerable state. He was eventually reduced to a helpless condition, requiring life support to remain alive.
Eight years after the final war, Dabi eventually succumbed to his injuries and died peacefully. His post-war life was essentially a slow death, as his severely mutilated body left him capable of speaking for only a few minutes each day. Despite his tragic fate, this does not change the fact that Dabi’s flames were always far more powerful than Endeavor’s. In the end, Endeavor acknowledged his mistakes and did what he could to make amends by taking care of his son.

Dabi’s Childhood Form Had One Major Weakness
As fans know, Dabi had a rough childhood in My Hero Academia. As the son of Endeavor, the young Toya spent his early days training under the second most powerful Pro Hero in Japan. After all, Dabi was born with a flame-based Quirk far stronger than Endeavor’s very own Hellflame Quirk.
At such a young age, Endeavor taught Dabi how to increase the heat and output of his flames. Unfortunately, Dabi’s inability to tolerate intense heat convinced Endeavor to see him as a failure. It didn’t matter that Dabi’s Quirk was stronger than Endeavor’s, as the young boy’s body couldn’t handle the intense heat produced by his own flames.

Dabi’s 13-Year-Old Form Unleashed His Blue Flames
Despite Endeavor’s rejection, the 13-year-old Dabi spent his days training by himself at Sekoto Peak. His efforts eventually paid off, with his Quirk growing stronger as his body developed. As a result, Dabi’s flames turned from red to blue, making them significantly stronger than before.
Dabi also learned that his flame powers would get stronger the more his emotions grew unstable. True enough, when Dabi lost control of his emotions, he quickly incinerated Sekoto Peak, resulting in a massive wildfire that engulfed the surrounding forest. At this point, everyone thought that Dabi’s body had also been incinerated, leaving nothing but his jawbone behind.

Dabi’s Reborn Form Marked the Birth of a Powerful Villain
Dabi’s body underwent months of recovery under All For One and Kyudai Garaki’s care after the Sekoto Peak wildfire. While the shady doctor expected Dabi to die in just a month due to the injuries he sustained, his grudge against Endeavor and his family kept him alive. Thus, the young Toya was ultimately reborn as Dabi, a villain determined to destroy Endeavor’s hero career and fully embrace the life of a villain.
In addition, the reborn Dabi wants to make Stain’s will a reality, from tearing down false heroes to creating a new future. Not long after, Dabi joined the League of Villains and quickly proved himself through successful missions, including helping the Vanguard Action Squad restrain Katsuki Bakugo. By this point, his flames were powerful enough to incinerate multiple weaker villains with little to no effort.

Dabi’s Shie Hassaikai Form Was Already a Threat to Professional Heroes
The final moments in the Shie Hassaikai Arc saw some improvements in Dabi’s strength and form. He was far stronger than before, allowing him to overwhelm professional heroes by himself. It goes without saying that his flame attacks became increasingly difficult to withstand.
True enough, when Dabi attacked Overhaul’s convoy with a large stream of flames, he easily tore through the vehicles and left the convoy in chaos. In the same story arc, Dabi even overwhelms the Pro Hero Snatch with powerful blasts of fire, ultimately killing him with little to no assistance from Mr. Compress.

Dabi’s Pro Hero Arc Form Took His Blue Flames to Another Level
Among the members of the League of Villains, Dabi was one of the most active when it comes to ransacking other villain groups for funds and resources. He also spent most of his time recruiting new members, burning everyone he met just because they were ambitionless.
In the same story arc, Dabi was tasked with testing the High-End Nomu, Hood, in actual combat, which eventually led him to cross paths with Endeavor and Hawks. By this point, Dabi was powerful enough to trap both Pro Heroes in a massive wall of flames. However, his overall combat abilities still had room for improvement, as Mirko was able to overpower him with relative ease. Likewise, Gigantomachia had little trouble brushing off Dabi’s Blue Flames during one of their encounters.

Dabi’s Meta Liberation Army Form Pushed His Body to the Breaking Point
The Meta Liberation Army Arc saw Dabi face off against Geten, a powerful Liberation Army member with an ice-based Quirk. Geten proved to be a natural counter to Dabi, as his Ice Ply Quirk was powerful enough to withstand and neutralize Dabi’s Blue Flames.
As a result, Dabi had to push his body to its limits, unleashing even more powerful Blue Flames to overwhelm Geten and melt through his ice-based attacks. The drawback, however, was dangerous, as Dabi’s flames began eating away at his already damaged body, making prolonged battles increasingly difficult. Despite this, Dabi persevered, pushing his battle with Geten to a surprising draw.

Dabi’s Paranormal Liberation Front Form Put Multiple Heroes on the Brink of Death
The Paranormal Liberation Front Arc was a monumental stage in Dabi’s transformation as an incredibly powerful villain. This was also the story arc where Dabi finally revealed his true identity to the world, including Endeavor and Shoto Todoroki. At the same time, Dabi overwhelmed multiple heroes, nearly killing several of them with his powerful flames.
Not only did Dabi scorch Hawks with a large flamethrower, but he also went berserk after hearing about Twice’s untimely demise. In this mode, Dabi beat down Hawks, nearly scorched Fumikage Tokoyami to death, and doused Kamui Woods in streams of flames. He even broke free from Izuku Midoriya’s Blackwhip with his fire blasts and overpowered Shoto’s Flashfire Fist: Jet Burn with an even more powerful version of the same attack. Dabi ultimately pushed the heroes to the brink with his own version of Prominence Burn, nearly finishing them all in the process.

Dabi’s Final War Form Showed the Full Power of His Blue Flames
Burning the entire Kamino Ward with a gigantic Fire Tornado was just one of Final War Arc Dabi’s phenomenal displays of power. He also overwhelmed Endeavor’s sidekicks on his own, taking them all on at once, including Shoto Todoroki. At this point, Dabi was ready to die just to destroy Endeavor’s life.
Dabi’s clash with Shoto saw him unleashing powerful fire-based attacks. At one point, he even triggered massive volcanic eruptions on the battlefield, increasing the heat of his flames to the point that even Shoto was starting to get burned. More impressively, Dabi survived Shoto’s ultimate attack, allowing him to chase after Endeavor. In the process, Dabi lost what little sanity he had left, consumed by his Blue Flames and hatred toward Endeavor to the point that he even manifested Ice within his Quirk.
