"Basically its grand theft auto in space" lmao iv heard this term used prob over a 500 times since gta 3 came out and other than the 2 rdrs its always always said about a game that doesnt belong in the same universe as gta and always has restrictions and limits that make it anything but like a gta game..
I remember when ANYTHING Star Wars were rare gems that came around every few years. People would stand in hour long movie lines, or camp outside theaters for days, just to see the new SW flick. Now, phhh, SW is plastered everywhere you look, like standing in a vomit sprayed restroom stall at a martini bar.
Not that every medium which is SW related turns out bad, but none of it has that 'thrill' it once had upon release –well, at least for me anyway.
A space marine 2 style game would be absolutely amazing, they have so much stuff from legends to draw from that they could make Canon. They could do ancient sith like nihlus the bad guy, or they could do it after the rise of skywalker to actually get some good stuff in that era, plus super early or late in the timeline is a sandbox with less timeline stuff To worry about

EA poisoned the well in many ways, making everything multiplayer with micro transactions. Got so bad they were getting investigated for BF2 illegally gambling for minors.
Damn the multiplayer shit, all you kids want is team deathmatch and to kill other players. That's a twisted mentality. You should try it in real life, go join the military or become a mercenary and go join some conflict, see if you will respawn when you get killed. The meat, it's in the single player story, you can take your time, explore every nook and cranny, replay while following different decisions to see different outcomes, etc.

And i'm not holding my breath for 1st person shitters, That why Squadrons failed. From what i saw in videos, it's AAAAAAAALL 1st person. Only times you see characters, are in cinematics. Vehicular combat MUST have 3rd person view also, for situational awareness.
And don't mention the word "immersion" . You are sitting on a chair, playing on your pc, which rests on a desl, looking at a monitor. Nothing immersive about all this. Immersion is to be there and living it. That's why the movies are in 3rd person and the lights are lowered to almost nothing. So the viewers can focus on the story they are watching.
