Pokémon GO City Safari is coming to Cancún, Mexico on September 27th and 28th, 2025! Set off on a citywide adventure as you discover the vibrant stories, new friends, and exciting Pokémon waiting for you in Cancún.

Whether you’re a resident of Cancún or a first-time visitor, your Pokémon GO City Safari will take you across the city in an all-new way—from historic landmarks to local favorites, get ready for a taste of the city with Pokémon GO by your side!

Event and ticket information

Tickets

Tickets will cost MX$190 (plus applicable taxes and fees) and can be purchased here.

• Trainers can either purchase a ticket for one day of the two-day event or a one-day ticket with an additional second day add-on. One-day tickets are MX$190 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees) and are available for purchase on the Pokémon GO City Safari website.
• You will see “Tickets Available” next to the Pokémon GO City Safari: Cancún event ticket if it hasn’t sold out yet. Event gameplay will be available only for the date, time, and location specified on your ticket.

Ticket Holder bonuses

Ticket-holding Trainers will receive the following bonuses and rewards between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., anywhere in Cancún on their ticketed day:

An increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon

Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lures) activated during the event will last four hours

Up to five special trades can be made per day, no matter where you are in Seoul

Trades will require 50% less Stardust

Your buddy may find an exclusive Tiny Compass souvenir.

Wild Spawns

Special Pokémon will appear across Cancún during the event! Plus, you’ll be able to exclusively encounter Mudbray, the Donkey Pokémon! Mudbray will currently only appear during Pokémon GO City Safari 2025 events, but it may appear worldwide at a later date.

Tip: You can upgrade your ticket with the Egg-thusiast add-on to unlock a 1/2 Hatch Distance bonus during the event! Ticket add-ons are active for both the Saturday and Sunday of Pokémon GO City Safari: Cancún.

Eevee Explorers Expedition

Help Professor Willow research Pokémon across Cancún!

Ticket-holding Trainers can gear up to assist Professor Willow and Eevee in learning more about the Pokémon appearing during the event. And Eevee seems ready for a big adventure—Trainers will encounter Eevee wearing an explorer hat at the beginning of the City Safari Special Research!

• Explore the city with Eevee as your buddy, and there’s no telling what you may discover!
• You’ll be able to evolve Eevee to any of their known Eeveelutions with the Explorer Hat, so be sure to collect as many of them as you can! Each evolution requires 50 candies, and some have their own special requirements.

^The only way to obtain these Pokémon wearing an explorer hat is by using 25 Eevee candy to evolve an Eevee wearing an explorer hat.

Eevee Explorers Expedition

Don’t know where to start your adventure? With an entire city to explore, the Eevee Explorers Timed Research experience can help you set off on an exciting tour of notable locations, landmarks, and even some local favorite spots!

Visit locations across the city to complete this event-exclusive Timed Research, which awards an additional encounter with Eevee wearing an explorer hat at each location you visit!*

(*) Ticket holders can receive up to eight encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat as a part of the Eevee Explorers Timed Research in addition to the Eevee wearing an explorer hat received as a part of the event Special Research. Trainers who purchase the second day add-on can complete the Timed Research a second time for an additional eight encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat.

Rewards

You’ll be able to evolve Eevee to any of their known Eeveelutions with the Explorer Hat, so be sure to collect as many of them as you can! Each evolution requires 50 candies, and some have their own special requirements.

City Safari Stamp Rally

A Pokémon GO Stamp Rally is an activity where Trainers visit specific PokéStops or Gyms to collect stamps by spinning the Photo Disc. As Trainers explore different locations to fill their Stamp Rally card, they can view their progress on the Scrapbook page and unlock rewards and Pokémon encounters along the way.

How to Participate

Each GO Stamp Rally has a unique theme, requiring Trainers to visit designated PokéStops to collect stamps. By checking your Map, you can view which locations are participating in a Rally.

1. When you are near a participating PokéStop, a stamp icon will appear on the map. 
2. Once you approach the PokéStop, you will automatically receive a stamp sheet.
3. Spin the Photo Disc where a stamp icon is displayed, and a circular stamp sheet will appear.
4. Tap or press and hold the centre of the circle; the density of the ink will vary based on how long you press. Please Note: Stamps cannot be re-stamped or adjusted once placed.
5. A stamp animation will play, indicating you have received the stamp.
6. You can collect 8 stamps in total during your Stamp Rally.
7. For each stamp, you’ll get an encounter with Eevee wearing an explorer hat. If you’re lucky, it may be shiny! You can track your collection progress on the Scrapbook page.
8. The City Safari stamp rally can only be completed once daily during the event hours.

In-Person Activities

Meeting Areas

Trainers can begin their adventure at one of the different meeting areas. There, you’ll be able to recharge your batteries with real-life PokéStop phone chargers, grab an adventure map at special information tents to guide you through the city.

From the meeting areas, you can explore nine dedicated regions, all co-planned with Cancún’s Tourism Board. Discover the diversity and uniqueness of Cancún in these areas:

• Langosta Beach

• Palapas Park
• ADO Terminal
• Marina Puerto Cancún
• Delfines Beach
• Kabah Park
• Tajamar Pier
• Forum Beach

Even better, some of these locations have dedicated, free WiFi connectivity, courtesy of GigNet, to ensure your gaming experience is stable and enjoyable.

Photo Opportunities

Lots of fun awaits at the meeting areas! These areas will be filled with activities and photo opportunities for all Trainers—newcomers and veterans alike. Complete both real-world and in-game stamp rallies by visiting locations around Cancún.

Take pictures with life-size statues of Pokémon GO’s team leaders, Spark, Blanche, and Candela, at the following locations:

• Langosta Beach
• La Isla Mall
• Palapas Park

Plus meet notable Trainers and content creators, who will be available for photos and autographs.

Pikachu Sun Visors

Cancún is one of the most beautiful beach paradises in the world. That means you’ll want to grab a Pikachu sun visor at one of the meeting areas to protect yourself from the sun—and shine a little extra fun on your journey through Cancún!*

Remember to take care of your health—don’t forget to apply sunscreen regularly and to stay hydrated.

*There will be a limited number of visors distributed at each location on a first-come, first-served basis.

Map

In each of the meeting areas and some partner locations, you can get a stamp on your adventure map.* Your map and Niantic’s Campfire app will let you know which spots to visit around Cancún to find special PokéStops and Official Routes, as well as in-person activities. And remember, you can collect stamps for your map at different locations around the city to complete your experience.

Gameplay Ticket add-ons

In addition to the live events, you will also be able to enhance your event experience with optional add-ons. Ticket add-ons are active for both days of Pokémon GO City Safari: Cancún —Saturday and Sunday. Trainers with the ticket add-ons will be able to take advantage of the bonuses even on the day that they aren’t taking part in ticketed gameplay.

Restrictions for the Saturday/Sunday add-ons apply. Trainers will only receive the event Special Research once.
