Demon Slayer’s popularity has been on the rise again, which is understandable after the success of the Infinity Castle movie. The series was always famous within the anime community, but the movie has introduced it to the mainstream audience. Before the movie’s release, not even Demon Slayer fans were expecting it to break so many records.

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie Sets A New Record
Demon Slayer Has Surpassed All Japanese Movies
- Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is still breaking records
- The subsequent movies have no release dates
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s amazing run is still ongoing, and it seems unlikely to end any time soon. It has broken almost every single record previously held by an anime movie. Not long after the movie was released in the United States, it surpassed the new live-action Superman movie at the box office. Now, the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie has grossed over 100,000,000,000 yen worldwide, making it the first Japanese movie to do so.
ufotable will be delighted with Infinity Castle’s performance at the box office. However, there will be more pressure on the studio to make the subsequent movies just as good if not better. So far, all the Demon Slayer projects produced by ufotable have been phenomenal. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the quality of the next two movies.
Speaking of movies, the release date of the remaining movies hasn’t been disclosed yet, which is understandable as the first part came out earlier this year. If one were to speculate, the second movie will likely be released sometime in 2027, while the third will premiere in 2029. There have been rumors of ufotable trying to conclude the trilogy before 2030, so the rumors could have an ounce of truth to them.
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle’s Success Will Propel Other Series To Do The Same
There is no doubt that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie earnings have been monitored by other anime series, which might cause them to try the same approach. For instance, an action-centric series like Solo Leveling would greatly benefit from having one of its biggest arcs getting adapted into a movie. Solo Leveling has become a massive hit in next to no time, and a movie would only increase its fame further.
Aside from Solo Leveling, there are other franchises that would greatly benefit from a movie adaptation, like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Boruto. In fact, Jujutsu Kaisen previously released a movie that covered the story of JJK: 0 and it was a hit. So, it is possible that JJK could do it again.
