Replaced, the cyberpunk action-platformer from Belarusian developer Sad Cat Studio, finally has a release date and is set to arrive on PC and Xbox Series X/S on 12th March.
Set in an alternate 1980s, it’s got all the trappings of the cyberpunk genre as you can see in the trailer below: a dystopian neon-lit setting; a corrupt, controlling corporation; and flying cars.
But that’s all presented in a unique 2.5D style that blends pixel art with environments full of depth.
Back in 2022, the studio was forced to delay the game due to the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Then, in 2023, it was delayed in 2024, then delayed once more into 2025. Now it’ll be out in 2026.
“It feels great to finally have a set date for the release of Replaced,” said game director Yura Zhdanovich. “It’s no secret that it’s taken longer for us to get here than we initially thought and we want to thank everyone for your continued patience and support. We’re looking forward to making it worth your while on March 12th!”
It certainly looks like it will be worth the wait. It’s coming to multiple PC stores (Steam, Epic, GOG), and will also be added to Xbox Game Pass.
