What I understand from the lore is:
The neighbor aka Mr Peterson have a loving wife and 2 kids living a good life, until 1 day, his wife died due to a car accident, and his two kid, a son and a daughter didn’t take this too well especially the son, he was mentally ill so he decided to trick his sister into getting on the rooftop and accidentally kill her, which is why we see a coffin that was for her, so the Mr Peterson: afraid of losing his son next decided to keep him in the basement why is why in act 1 we heard some scream
