Naruto and Sasuke are two of the most legendary ninjas that the fans have seen in the Naruto story over the years. In fact, it can be said that they are the two most prestigious ninjas to have ever appeared in the story, and their legacy is absolutely unmatched. Naruto and Sasuke often stand together in the face of great obstacles, such as Madara Uchiha, and more recently, the likes of Momoshiki Otsutsuki, and even Jigen. However, one absolutely cannot forget that these two were initially rivals and continue to hold a friendly rivalry to this day.
Say Hello To The Final Power Ups Of Naruto and Sasuke
Naruto and Sasuke will eventually return in Boruto, and stronger than ever.
Naruto and Sasuke always compete with each other and try to one-up the other. They have fought multiple battles, with Sasuke winning one of them and Naruto winning the final one. Even in the battle against Momoshiki, the two were competing against one another, with Sasuke being declared the winner in that instance. Fans often wonder who is stronger between Naruto and Sasuke as adults. While there wasn’t an explicit answer to this question up until now, Kishimoto has officially confirmed who the stronger of the two is at the moment.
Naruto And Sasuke Were Evenly Matched At The Beginning Of Boruto

At the beginning of the Boruto series, Naruto and Sasuke were very evenly matched. When the Fourth Great Ninja War ended, Naruto had reached a level above Sasuke Uchiha. This is because Naruto was able to defeat him and then he went on to receive the second half of Kurama. Clearly, he would have been way too strong for Sasuke to beat at that point in the story.
However, Kishimoto also confirmed that by the Boruto era, Sasuke had trained relentlessly and caught up to Naruto. By this point in time, they were both evenly matched in terms of power. Naruto went on to surpass Sasuke once again and this happened during the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki. In this battle, Naruto tapped into the power of Baryon Mode and this allowed him to surpass even Isshiki’s own power.
This power is immense. It should definitely surpass his. But the drawbacks are too great. You see, the fact that it drains our lifespan is the key here. Since chakra is connected, the power that comes into being from the bits of our lives also shaves off his life when in contact. That is the power of Baryon Mode. — Kurama to Naruto Uzumaki
Of course, Sasuke could not compete with Naruto at this level, so this essentially meant that Naruto had surpassed him. Unfortunately, Baryon Mode was only a temporary power-up and it ended in Naruto losing Kurama’s chakra. Sasuke also lost the Rinnegan at the same time, which put these two on an even footing.
That said, something that most fans forget is that Sasuke still had one of his eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which still gave him access to both Amaterasu, Kagutsuchi, and of course his Susanoo as well.
Meanwhile, Naruto did not have any of his Tailed Beast Chakra, and only the Sage Mode to rely on. At this point in the story, Sasuke was stronger than Naruto Uzumaki and it seems that he has gone on to reach even higher strength since leaving Naruto in the dust for good.

Masashi Kishimoto has officially confirmed that Sasuke is stronger than Naruto Uzumaki right now in the story. This is because of the turn of events at the end of the first part of the Boruto series. As fans know, Kawaki went on to seal Naruto with his Daikokuten Jutsu.

At this point, Naruto was essentially taken out of the plot for good. However, Sasuke was still free. When Sasuke stopped Kawaki from attacking Boruto, he then went on to train the latter and spent about a year with him. In fact, Sasuke did not just train Boruto, but he also trained his own skill, as was confirmed by Kishimoto in the latest information book.
It’s Time To Welcome Boruto’s New Legendary Ninja Even Stronger Than Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto is strong, but this ninja from Boruto has already surpassed him.
During this time, Sasuke’s skill leveled up greatly and he reached a new level of power. This new level of power was very evident when Sasuke fought against Code.
During this battle, Sasuke was clearly able to take one of Code’s eyes from him and even cut down multiple Claw Grimes at the same time. Code, for reference, was stronger at this point than Jigen, after having his Limiters removed. Previously, Sasuke and Naruto together could not even scratch Jigen once.
Sasuke was at a level where he could take Code’s eye and still protect Boruto at the same time. This is a confirmation of the fact that Sasuke had grown much stronger after the timeskip of the Boruto series.
Sasuke Has Now Officially Surpassed Naruto Uzumaki
Given his level of strength one year after the beginning of the timeskip of Boruto, it can officially be said that Sasuke Uchiha went on to surpass Naruto and was stronger than him at this point. Unfortunately, Sasuke did end up losing the battle against Code, which meant that he was sealed away.
His body was used as a source material for chakra by the Divine Tree, and then the Shinju were born. Sasuke’s Shinju is known as Hidari, and he is quite strong. Needless to say, Hidari is stronger than Naruto Uzumaki as well, and fans know that already.
As far as Sasuke goes, there can now be no doubts about his level being above that of Naruto. The longer Naruto stays in Daikokuten, the stronger Sasuke will get, especially since he will most likely return before Naruto does, if the prologue is anything to go by.
Naruto Uzumaki Will Eventually Catch Up To Sasuke
While it is true that Sasuke Uchiha is stronger than Naruto Uzumaki right now, that is not going to be the case forever. Kishimoto has stated on multiple occasions that Sasuke and Naruto are like Yin and Yang. They are two counterparts to each other and they often balance each other out. Sasuke and Naruto have to always be close in terms of power. When Sasuke gets stronger, so does Naruto, and vice versa.
Since Sasuke is stronger than Naruto right now, it is a given that when Naruto does go on to return, he will be on the same level as the former. There should be absolutely no doubts about Naruto gaining new power-ups after his return to match Sasuke’s level of strength.
When the Boruto series does end, both Naruto and Sasuke need to be at an equal level of power, because there has to be a balance between these two at all times.
For now, Naruto’s return doesn’t seem anywhere close. Hopefully, he will go on to return at some point later down the line in the Boruto series. But at the moment, the Shinju need to be dealt with first. Once they are dealt with, and Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki fight out their final battle, Naruto’s return will be on the horizon and fans absolutely cannot wait for that.
