AION 2 is an upcoming MMORPG that’s been in development since 2018, This is a game that upon initial announcement I had zero hype for because it seemed like it would be almost entirely designed for mobile with a PC port tacked on like Blade & Soul 2 which was announced at a similar time, thankfully this doesn’t actually seem to be the case and from the recent footage shown of AION 2 it definitely looks way more PC focused than mobile, According to the devs, whilst AION 2 will be playable on mobile they don’t expect mobile players to be able to do the difficult content, It’s expected that mobile will be more for casual content like crafting, gathering and mini games.
In this video I’ll share with you the recently revealed gameplay of AION 2 as well as give you my thoughts on the game, explaining why this has gone from something I wasn’t even gonna cover on the channel to a game I’m looking forward to trying out.
AION 2 MMORPG Description
Aion 2 is NCsoft’s upcoming action-focused MMORPG, set to launch in Korea in late 2025 and globally in the first half of 2026 after a significant appearance at Gamescom 2025 in August. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game will feature a dynamic, real-time action combat system, an expansive open world with integrated flight, and a more modern monetization model than previous NCsoft titles.
Key Features
Action Combat: Aion 2 shifts from the original’s tab-targeting to a dynamic combat system emphasizing manual control, dodging, and chain skills, with no auto-combat.
Open World & Flight: The game will feature a massive, visually stunning open world where players can fly freely, similar to the original Aion, but with a more integrated system.
Modern Monetization: The developers are aiming for a more user-friendly and less “pay-to-win” approach to monetization compared to some of NCsoft’s previous games.
Unreal Engine 5: The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, promising high-quality graphics and visuals.
Character Creator & Mounts: It will include a deep character creation system and a robust mount system where players can collect fragments to craft and upgrade mounts for faster travel.

Korean Release: Late 2025
Global Release: 2026 (first half)
Marketing: A significant marketing push will begin in the second half of 2025, with an appearance at Gamescom 2025.

Tera with Aion skin
Aion was one of my favorite mmos of all time, glad to see so many others feel the same.
Looks amazing… There's hope!
aiming for hyper realistic graphics is going to kill the genre. think about league of legends, in order to maintain their massive player base, the game is designed in a way that it can run on the most primitive of toasters. increasing the game's accessibility.
there is also the matter of the visual/art style. its so generic.
this game is going to lose its player base within the first 3 months and be forgotten just like every single mmo that has tried to launch within the last 10 years.
there is no love or creative passion behind any of these projects. its all for that cold hard cash.

As someone who played the first Aion for a very long time, if there is a slightest hint of p2w in this game, not even going to touch this game nor another NC title.
Unreal engine turns me off

You and many others are extremely clueless regarding flying. It's terrible and it was one of the main reasons people started massively quitting back then lol. From what I've seen, it looks exactly the same here lol.

Aion was a great game at the time – played it from the beta and really enjoyed it for a year or so. Hopefully this one is as good.

If I just saw the footage alone with no other information I would be going: "That looks like a flashy mobile game".
Can't say I'm really excited for that same old action MMO combat. I've almost come back around completely and now want WoW-style tab combat.

I get so disappointed every time a new mmo gets announced and isn't action combat after Tera. Tera wasn't great except for the combat, tab target is just doesn't interest me anymore. It's pretty and character creator looks great.

great game! i am referring to the skill animations where it's massive and not some low ball animation. i like the graphics too it's impressive than the previous 2009. It was announced back in 2018 and we have SD 8 elite so this game's no problem. Pay2win and bugs are definitely a huge gap if not.

If u can bind at least 20 spells on action bars the game could be good. I am so bored of that 1234 games…
