I can’t find any official forum, so I decided to write here. If you have a link to it, please send it to me.
First, let me say that I love the game. The things below are small details that I would love to see improved. The game is great—easily the best in the series—and for me it’s a solid 9/10. These changes would make it a perfect 10/10. I’m listing the following points from most important to least important:
1 – Some buildings behave strangely when placed at an angle.
For example, the sheep farm: when placed normally, you can fit 3 fields in a row, but at a 45° angle you can no longer do that. There are several similar interactions, and it would be great if this could be fixed.
2 – The city-size debuffs feel way too strong, especially for lower-tier populations who cannot be made happy with goods. I often find myself placing theaters and baths in the poorest districts just to try to keep them happy, and they still remain unhappy. It feels like the correct strategy is to ignore fire, happiness, and health mechanics entirely and just throw in city watch buildings when the unstoppable disasters come anyway.
If I were a developer, I would reduce the impact of city-size debuffs on lower population tiers—for example, Libertus only getting 25% of the debuff, Plebeians getting 50%, etc. I think this would encourage players to interact with the system instead of ignoring it.
3 – Specialists are far less interesting than in Anno 1800.
In Anno 1800, specialists gave bonus materials, changed recipe requirements, and were extremely fun to use. Now when I place an Officum, it just feels like a complicated bathhouse with small production buffs.
I would love to see specialists that, for example, allow you to use copper instead of iron for weapons in Albion, or a specialist who lets you make dye from lavender and gives bonus soap every 10 cycles. That would be much more exciting than what we have now.
4 – There is a lot of tech, but it eventually runs out.
In a 100,000-population run, I know that for most of the game I won’t interact with the tech system at all. It would be nice to have repeatable tech, similar to permits from Anno 1800.
For example, military tech could include a repeatable Praetorian Guard discovery where we assist the emperor in research and he grants us +1 unit of his personal guard.
For civic tech, maybe repeatable permits for a faster Phoenician ship. There are tons of ideas that could make the tech system more interactive.
5 – A personal cosmetic request:
Could we get a gate variant that doesn’t shoot and doesn’t require workforce? I don’t want to make a “liberty city” just because I want to decorate my town.
Also, could we get curved aqueducts? They would look so much nicer if they could curve like roads do at angles.
"EUER VOLK HUNGERT!"
This game is absolutely amazing.
The only thing keeping their stocks from crashing, but we all know it's inevitable.
We need Anno for Old Egypt.
I was so absolutely psyched for this game on ps5, unfortunately I've had to refund my pre order as they have removed the ability to stream the store edition to the portal? That's the only way I can play it right now. Why not just enable it?
i love anno, but ubisoft has done to many things wrong. i will buy it if its someday on a sale for 5 bucks. or if the rights for it have finally been bought away from ubisoft. however till then not 1 cent goes towards ubisoft anymore.
No matter because this game also requires shitty Ubisoft launcher which I wowed to never install on my pc again
First impression is: This guy is reading a script. like yeah of course he is but why is it so distractingly obvious lmao
This game looks pretty awesome. I’m actually gonna purchase it on my pc instead of console. The game looks lots of fun.
I just canceled my pre-order.
I’ve already seen too much content, too many spoilers, tricks, and gameplay clips everywhere. It completely killed my excitement for the game.
It’s honestly ridiculous that streamers who will play it once get access almost a month before the players who actually pay for it. What’s even the point of pre-ordering if everything gets spoiled before release?
Ubisoft really messed this one up. Instead of building hype, they just burned all the excitement. Keep your early access. I’m out.
First of all: I won`t buy full price as long as multiple useless youtube/twitch channels got an early access. Second thing: I think Anno 1800 is the absolut prime and maybe this one will be more like 2070, nice to buy after 3 years in christmas sale but not for full price….
Will it be 30 fps on consoles?
i'm 28, and i discovered anno with anno 1800. it was the first time in my life that i spent that much time on a video game ever outside of any competitive game. and this is the first time in my life that i'm actually WAITING so much for a game to be released. pax romana seems like the absolute perfect game, i cant wait to spend endless days and weeks on it !!!
I am shocked in a good way! JUST WOW!
