Arc Raiders Players Still Don’t Know If They Should Opt For The Progression Wipe

Arc Raiders’ big progression wipe is just ten days away and players still aren’t sure if they should go ahead with the voluntary progression wipe. Labelled as the Expedition Project, this system is just like any other multiplayer progression wipe, but features a bit of narrative to it. Its main purpose is to appeal to those who want progression wipes as well as those who don’t.

Players will lose weapons, items, levels, skills, and crafting abilities in return for permanent account unlocks and unique cosmetics for every expedition completed. Those who opt to embark on expeditions will also receive “Account buffs” for the duration, but the devs have ensured that it doesn’t give them an advantage over others. However, players feel this isn’t enough information to help them choose whether to wipe their progress or not.

Should You Opt To Wipe Your Progression In Arc Raiders?

A number of players have been discussing whether the progression wipe will be worth it. While Embark Studios has roughly revealed what will happen if you choose to wipe your progression, it isn’t nearly as detailed as they would like. A lot of people are worried that they may make the wrong decision. I don’t blame you if you’re unsure, it took me a long time to build up my stash of loot.

Arc Raiders Should Have Been At Least Nominated For This GOTY Category

Arc Raiders Sound Design is fantastic, and it’s a real shame it didn’t get a nod at this years Game Awards.

“Seriously? We are 10 days out from the wipe, and it’s total radio silence from Embark,” says a Reddit post by Flumingo1990. “We still have zero info on the stash increase size, the item requirements for the 5 skill point reward, or the mechanics behind ‘increased repair efficiency.’

Here are the incentives that Embark has currently laid out for the progress wipe:

Permanent account unlocks for each completed Expedition
Unique cosmetic rewards for each completed Expedition
Account “buffs” that are applied for the duration of the following Expedition cycle

And sequential completions of the Expedition Project increase the magnitude of these buffs, up to a limit.

We still have no idea what “buffs” are. Hopefully, the devs will make the decision clearer with more information on them and about the Expedition Project soon.
