Arms Week Weapon God Rolls

Arms Week is a new event in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate that adds a handful of new weapons to chase. During this event, Ada-1 will pick a weapon category to experiment with, adding new volatile mods to the game and an exclusive prototype weapon to chase. These weapons tend to have unique weapon frames or perk combinations you can’t find elsewhere.

Get your hands on a shotgun hand cannon, a rapid-fire slug shotgun, and more during the Arms Week event.

While only a couple of these weapons are obtainable per event, it’s worth knowing the god rolls for every Arms Week weapon for when they inevitably become farmable. Here are the best rolls you can earn for each Arms Week weapon, covering the best perk combinations for both PvE and PvP.

Phoneutria Fera

Destiny 2 Phoneutria Fera

Phoneutria Fera is technically a hand cannon, but it’d be more accurate to call this a primary shotgun. This weapon uses the spread shot frame, causing it to fire buckshot in place of a single projectile. The slow fire rate of 100 RPM makes it ineffective for melting enemies up close like a special ammo shotgun, but it’s more than good enough to kill fodder units.

Unfortunately, the main standout perk on this gun, One-Two Punch, is half as effective on this archetype. Activating this perk only provides a 75% melee damage bonus, from 150%. It’s still a decent option for melee builds, especially when paired with Proximity Power for a boost to your Melee stat, but it’s not going to entirely dethrone shotguns for melee PvE builds.

Usage in PvP is tricky due to the weapon’s low range. If you can get a roll with all range perks and Slideshot, you should be able to duel against SMG players. Damage profiles aren’t well tested on spread shots, so it’s unclear if damage perks will offer any value. We recommend One-Two Punch to make follow-up melee hits a little more lethal.

Ribbon Tail

Trace rifles are typically used as utility weapons in PvE. Ribbon Tail aims to be an exception. You can’t get Shoot to Loot or Attrition Orbs here, but Ribbon Tail can get some solid damage perks to help it compete with other workhorse special weapons.

Subsistence with Redirection is a solid option here, as hits against red bars will substantially increase your damage against tougher foes. Killing Tally is also a decent option if you never got a solid trace rifle from Sundered Doctrine or Trials.

For PvP, you can more or less avoid this gun altogether. There are no good ammo economy perks or passive damage modifiers that make it competitive with other special ammo weapons.

Here is everything you need to know about Armor 3.0 in the Edge of Fate expansion.

Synanceia

Destiny 2 Synanceia

Synanceia is the first wave frame sword to get Eager Edge in the second column. If you want a good speedrun weapon that can double as a workhorse weapon, this might be the new definite pick. It can also roll with Attrition Orbs to spawn Orbs of Power or Sharp Harvest to spawn special ammo, perfect for double special loadouts.

If you’re looking to use this as a DPS weapon, you can chase Relentless Strikes with Elemental Honing for a massive damage spike on Prismatic. It’s not quite the strongest sword in the game for melee DPS, but it’s competitive and significantly better for slaying adds.

Trachinus

Destiny 2 Trachinus

Trachinus is the first rapid-fire slug shotgun, trading raw damage for a much higher fire rate. The weapon itself has an absurdly good stat package, comparable to Heritage from Deep Stone Crypt. High aim assist, range, and handling should make rolls fairly lenient here. For PvE, we recommend Rimestealer with Headstone for easy Frost Armor generation. There aren’t any good auto-loading perks for DPS, so we discourage you from using this in place of a traditional slug shotgun for boss damage.

Crucible players will want to spec this gun for as much range and handling as possible. Killing Wind and Encore give you an absurd amount of range. With the right roll, you can easily hit 100 range and handling with this gun after you land a precision kill. Not many slug shotguns can boast the same, especially ones with over 70 aim assist.
