Batman’s Canceled Arkham Game Suit Design With Older Dark Knight Revealed

Concept art for a canceled Batman Arkham game has surfaced online. Developed by WB Games Montréal, it provides fans with a glimpse of a version of the Dark Knight that was never officially released. Shared by artist Jerad S. Marantz, the images depict an older Batman in a heavily armored suit.

Unmade Batman Arkham game would have had an older Dark Knight

A canceled Batman game from few years ago is resurfacing in the spotlight. The project, known as Project Sabbath, was in development at WB Games Montreal. It promised a darker and intense take on the Dark Knight compared to previous installments. Although the game was eventually canceled, recent social media reveals have given fans a rare glimpse into the design.

Concept artist Jerad S. Marantz recently shared new images of the Batman suit on Instagram. The illustrations reveal a darker Batman with a heavy and layered costume. The character is shown with red eyes and a battle-worn appearance. The design appears to emphasize the toll of years of fighting crime, suggesting he has faced numerous challenges.

In the caption, Marantz highlighted his admiration for the iconic superhero, writing, “I love Batman! I was so excited when I got a chance to design a suit for the Arkham universe.” He continued, “Unfortunately, this game was canceled, but I am still so grateful to have had the time to do another bat suit. This one was a funtake.”

The artist also explained the concept, writing, “It was a much older Batman and the suit was really holding this beaten and broken hero together. Batman is still my absolute favorite superhero. I could work on this guy forever.”

Apart from the suit design, additional leaks have surfaced in recent months, including gameplay footage that never reached completion. No official release schedule was ever announced for Project Sabbath.
