We’ve known for quite some time that Battlefield 6 will be getting its own Battle Royale mode, but the timing of it has been the subject of debate. We can finally put the questions to rest, as recent datamining efforts point to a launch in just a few days time.
ModernWarzone, an account typically known for Call of Duty leaks, has shared information from the dataminer, OneBattlefield, who discovered that a game mode, codenamed ‘Granite’ will drop on October 28th. Tom Henderson, another well-known leaker, went on to confirm that Granite is the codename for Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode, indicating plans to shadow drop the new mode in just a few days’ time.
It is unclear exactly what changes will be made for Battlefield’s return to the Battle Royale genre. The last time Battle Royale made an appearance in Battlefield was the Firestorm mode in Battlefield V, and that was all the way back in 2019. Battlefield Studios has previously teased that this new Battle Royale mode will have a ‘deadly ring’, removing the ability for players to jump in and out of the safe zone while remaining alive.
Next week will also see the launch of Battlefield 6’s first seasonal content drop, which we previewed earlier this week.
