Alice In Borderland is a unique television series that follows a small group of friends who find themselves trapped in Tokyo, but the city is completely empty. Arisu and his friends must make it through the city alive while having to complete a series of challenges to get to the bottom of what is going on. 12 Foundation

Foundation takes to the stars and explores a galaxy wide conflict quickly approaching, with only a small few able to do anything about it. The story follows a galactic empire ruled by three clones of the same ruler, Emperor Cleon, who segments his reign into age groups so that a younger and older version of himself always sits with him on the throne. These emperors enforce peace and subordination as far as the stars shine in the sky.

Things become chaotic when a scholar’s theory predicts not only the end of the emperor’s rule, but the end of civilization as a whole. Instead of listening, the Cleons banish this scholar to the far reaches of the galaxy, where he begins to build a new society he calls “Foundation.” Foundation has some of the best special effects in the business and great writing that makes full use of the spectacular cast involved. As an AppleTV exclusive, Foundation sets the standard for future series of the streaming service.

11 Stranger Things

Stranger Things is a sensational series that has received worldwide praise for its unique story and strong fantasy and horror elements. When a group of socially challenged kids encounter a young girl who recently escaped from a secret facility, the kids are dragged into a plot that could spell disaster for their small town.

The depth of the series only grows as men in black, psychotic scientists, psychic powers, and interdimensional monsters become common occurrences, and these awkward and unprepared kids must tary and get by on their own. The series’ fifth and final season is quickly approaching, with the original cast returning to see this series through to the end.

As the family’s tensions run high, it quickly becomes apparent that the night is not the only thing to fear. Like most of the films, the show takes a close look at the innocent civilians who attempt to survive the purge and must rely on the kindness of strangers and their own wit in order to do so. The Purge series engages viewers with nail-biting suspense as several people try to evade the murder mobs that seek to have the best purge ever.

What’s left of the human race now resides on a modified train built to endure the harsh climate of ice and snow. The poverty class of passengers is forced into the worst conditions, feeding off of each other just to stay alive. Being pushed to their limit, the have-nots decide to overthrow their betters and take over the train to redistribute the wealth. Snowpiercer is the spinoff of the original film starring Chris Evans.

7 Gantz

Gantz is a Japanese anime created by Hiroya Oku which explores a small group of deceased individuals who must complete tasks to make it back to the land of the living. Kei Kurona wakes up in a small room after saving a man from being hit by a train.

He and several other individuals are trapped in a small room and confused about how they got there but are soon told that they have died. Before the makeshift party can get their bearings, they are transported into Tokyo which has been infested by monsters and demons and must kill their target or be killed in the process.

6 Sweet Home

Sweet Home is a high-octane Korean series that drops viewers into the sudden trauma of Cha Hyunb-soo, a young boy who has just lost his family and is now on his own during an apparent apocalypse-level event. He and a handful of residents become trapped inside their apartment complex as grotesque monsters invade the city and roam the streets slaughtering anything that moves.

Cha and the rest of the residents must do all they can to survive, while not losing themselves in the process. Sweet Home delivers on action and drama, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats at every twist and turn.

In sick and treacherous games, the elite watch and wager on the success of the young challengers who may not survive to join their ranks. The 3% consists of four seasons that have finished airing.

4 All Of Us Are Dead

All of Us Are Dead is based on the webtoon by author Joo Dong-geun. Netflix adapted the series into a television series that is currently in its first season. A group of teenagers in a Korean high school become trapped when a zombie outbreak envelopes the city.

With no way out, the group of kids must make it through a horde of vicious zombie hordes, suffer betrayal, and learn to control their fear in order to survive. All of Us Are Dead takes the zombie genre and flips the trope on its head with a story viewers won’t see coming.

3 12 Monkeys

12 Monkeys is set in the year 2053, the world has been ravaged by a virus that has decimated the human population and is responsible for killing over four billion people. A group of scientists creates a secret project that allows for time travel.

James Cole is recruited for the Splinter Project to go back in time and prevent the release of the virus into the world and save countless lives in the process. Unfortunately, James must take on the ruthless terrorist organization, The Army of the Twelve Monkeys, who are responsible for releasing the virus but have much larger plans in store for the planet.

2 Squid Game

What starts as an easy way to score some much-needed cash turns into a horrid venture for Seong Gi-Hung. A down on his luck good for nothing, Seong Gi-Hung is lured into a game of chance by a wealthy businessman who offers him a chance to make a sizable profit by showing up to a particular place at a certain time.

Unfortunately, upon arrival, it is explained that all contestants must put their lives on the line in a Squid Game for a life-changing amount of money. While the majority disagree and walk away from the risk at first, nearly all show back up and take part in the bloody and cruel series of games that will only leave one contestant alive.

Kingdom is one of the most interesting takes on the zombie apocalypse genre since The Walking Dead. Set in the bygone era of medieval Korea, after a great king dies and comes back to life, it is up to the heir to the throne to save his people from the undead curse that follows.

With sword in hand, Lee Chang and his loyal subjects take on the undead and try to cut a path to surviving the curse and releasing the kingdom from whatever dark grasp evil has on it. Kingdom is a phenomenal series that even has an animated counterpart, and is well worth the watch.
