There are a lot of different ingredients that you’re going to need if you’re looking to have the best team in Madden NFL 26. A good player is nothing without good teammates; rare is the player capable of making a marked difference all on their own.
These teams have what it takes in order to make a title run. That’s not to say that they can’t be improved; no team on earth is perfectly happy with their performance, or see no room for improvement. But, if you’re looking to dominate the competition, these are the teams you’re going to want to look at.
While the teams on this list are currently rated the highest overall, there are a few teams that have an abundance of young players with very high ceilings, that aren’t necessarily rated quite as high this early in the year. It’s possible that by the end of the season, these ratings could look very different.
Lions: 88 Overall
The Lions have all the pieces in place to go the distance, and one of the only things standing in their way last year were all the injuries they suffered. While the “next man up” mentality is generally necessary for an NFL team throughout a season, at a certain point, you run out of bodies to put on the field, and the Lions were having to really dig to find people they could put a uniform on.
Which does mean they should be looking to hit the ground running. Save for a couple of holes on their offensive line, they’ve got absurd talent at every offensive position. While the defensive side of the ball looks a little bit less strong, it can certainly get the job done, especially if the offense is putting enough points on the board.
Most Valuable Players
These are the players who should be making the most difference on the Lions roster:

Vikings: 88 Overall
The Vikings share a division with the Lions, making it a particularly competitive division, this year. They’re in an interesting position this year as a roster without a stellar quarterback, but in a good position, overall. That’s not to say J.J. McCarthy can’t get it done this year, but he’s largely unproven. He has solid ratings, though, and should have an upward trajectory.
The real strength in this Vikings team is on the line of scrimmage. Both their offensive line and defensive lines are above average, and that’s going to afford the positions behind them extra opportunities. They have plenty of options in the passing game, and while Aaron Jones is starting to age at RB, he should have at least another good season in him.

The Vikings have a few particularly notable players:

Bills: 89 Overall
The Bills don’t have much further to go to get to the biggest game in the sport, and only have one major roadblock to overcome in order to make it there. If they can make it through that Championship game, they stand a good chance at taking home the Lombardi Trophy.
They have one of the most well-rounded rosters in football, with the best quarterback in the league, a great young running back, and a defense full of consistently above-average players. There are few holes, and while they don’t have a ton of household names, they have plenty of players who are more than capable of doing great work.

Chiefs: 90 Overall
The Chiefs have had the pieces in place for a long time now, and that’s reflected in their records in the last few years. That being said, they ran into some trouble last year, suffering from mistakes on both sides of the ball that saw them fall short.
That said, their roster has playmakers on both sides of the ball that are capable of changing a game when they’re on. You won’t need to worry about the quarterback position for the foreseeable future, they have a couple of stellar offensive linemen, and a defense full of young talent.

These players are going to contribute every time they’re on the field:

Eagles: 91 Overall
The Eagles have had a strange few years, but cannot complain about the last outing, which earned them another Super Bowl victory. When functioning as expected, they’ve got one of the most talented, and youngest, rosters in football. Many of their highest-rated players tend toward their mid-to-late twenties, meaning with smart contracts, they could keep this roster intact for a while.
With one of the most talented and consistent quarterbacks in the game, a duo of ultra-talented wide receivers, an outrageous offensive line, and a young defense that’s got the potential to grow into a problem for the rest of the league, the Eagles are one of the most future-proof rosters in the league.

These are the players that the Eagles are going to be leaning on:

Ravens: 93 Overall
The Ravens have the highest-rated roster in the league, and when they’re firing on all cylinders, they’re a terrifying team to behold. The only thing working against them in recent years has been a significant dip in performance when it comes to playoff time.
But in the world of Madden, that playoff performance is mostly down to your abilities as a playcaller and a player, and they have the ratings to make an almost lackadaisical run to the Super Bowl. From the second-best quarterback currently playing and a supporting cast of playmakers on both sides of the ball, once you’ve got this team rolling, they’ll be nearly impossible to stop.
