Blizzard Servers Collapse After DDoS Attack

This past week Blizzard has experienced a series of DDoS attacks on its servers, cutting the playerbase from its favorite games. As of April 20, 2023 Blizzard still reports repeatable DDoS attacks on an almost daily basis, and urges all of its players to have patience.

Some players report that although they themselves can’t connect to the Blizzard servers, their friends have been able to do so, which means that the issue may have been localized. In this case, the World of Warcraft developer urges their fans to flush their DNS by following these official instructions.

There’s nothing more you can do about this for now, it will take Blizzard some time to sort out the situation. If you’re getting an error message stating the you were unable to connect to the servers, then copy the error code and send it to Blizzard Support.

In the most extreme cases, players have also been reporting about hacked e-mails, to which Blizzard has also reacted with the following message on Twitter:

Hopefully, not that many people have experienced such a nuisance, so beware of your personal online security in these complicated times, and keep your eyes open for all the latest news on Blizzard situation right here.
