Borderlands 4 Credits Include Free Shift Code

If you’ve been playing the Borderlands franchise for some time, specifically starting with Borderlands 2, it’s likely that you’re familiar with Shift codes. In case you haven’t, it’s a 25-character code that can help net some neat in-game rewards that can potentially lead to some sweet loot. It’s a somewhat major part of the Borderlands experience, spawning Shift code trackers as gamers try and create the best possible loadout.

The feature made its return with the release of Borderlands 4, and within hours Shift codes began being distributed. What’s more, there’s one hiding in plain sight during the end-game credits. That said, it’s probably worth holding off on using it.

It’s An Awesome Gesture That’s Totally Worth Saving

As first spotted on Reddit, if you happen to take the time to watch the end-game credits, you’ll be rewarded with one Shift code. If you are impatient, then the code is as follows: T9RJB-BFKRR-3RBTW-B33TB-KCZB9.

Because the credits are readily available online to view or within the game’s menu, players had already begun writing down the code in an effort to gain an early edge. However, as one commenter noted, don’t jump the gun just yet.

For anyone who is new to the franchise, don’t use this too early in the game. The loot you get as a reward will be replaced quick. Save it for endgame. Or late campaign if you want it earlier than endgame.

If you’re not planning on playing endgame, then yeah, use it whenever in the campaign, I guess haha. Totally up to you. Maybe you’re stuck at a certain point in the campaign and need some new loot too, go for it. It’s just that I always save mine for near the end of the campaign or endgame.

It really just depends on how many keys they give out. They give away a lot of keys through the game’s life cycle for the other games via social media and there are websites that list all the key codes for you to paste in, but we’re not sure how many keys Borderlands 4 will be getting this early on.

Like I’m not gonna use my key at level 10 when there are 50 levels.

In other words, considering just how precious the codes are, it’s probably wise not to use them so early and then eventually have your in-game loot outclass it. While the advice above is particularly sage, one other commenter suggested that it be used in the middle of the game before your build gets too complete.

No matter which path you decide to take, it’s a pretty sweet early reward.
