If you bought Borderlands 4 at launch, you’ve probably already reached the level-cap with all four Vault Hunters and are farming for legendary guns. But let’s say you bought it recently thanks to the Black Friday discount, you’re probably working your way up the ranks and still have a lot of skills to unlock.

The similarities go deeper than first-person shooting.
The way Borderlands 4’s skill tree is created, you need to spend enough points at one level to be able to move on to the next, and eventually onto the strongest skills at the bottom. Unfortunately, this system requires you to waste a bunch of points on skills you don’t really want or need. However, it seems someone has found a glitch that allows you to get those endgame skills and capstones without spending on those useless ones.
Borderlands 4 Skill Tree Glitch Explained
YouTuber Joltzdude139 revealed how you can unlock skills that you still don’t have access to. Using Amon’s Calamity skill tree, they explained that you’d usually have to invest 26 skill points to reach all the way to the bottom, where the most powerful skills are. But with this glitch, you only need to invest one point on the skill you want.
To start off, you need to invest enough points into the skill tree to unlock your desired skill, in this case Amon’s Electrical Fire passive. Ensure that you invest two fewer points than the points cap while doing this: so if it’s five, don’t invest more than three. Once they unlock Electrical Fire and Stormcutter, the next step is to remove the points you’ve invested in getting there.
For this step, you need to have only one skill point available. If you have extra, you can dump it in one of the other two skill trees. With this in place, go to the skill just above the one you want to unlock, in this case Judgement, and use the option to dump all remaining points into the skill (hold spacebar on PC). After this, simply press the ‘Undo’ option.
Here’s where the glitch primarily occurs. Instead of dropping down to three points after undo, you’ll drop down to two, but Electrical Fire skill will remain unlocked, even though you don’t have enough skills in the tree. Then it’s just a case of repeating the process all the way to the top. By the end of it, you’ll have your most powerful skill unlocked without having to spend extra just to get there.
Sure, this glitch requires time and a few skill points to work, but with it you can truly customise your build without spending points on unnecessary skills.
