Borderlands 4 Player Discovers Infinite Damage Build

A Borderlands 4 content creator shared a video that detailed how to use a specific throwing knife with Vex the Siren, along with her Bloodletter skill trait, to deal excessive damage to any target. However, any Borderlands 4 players interested in trying out Vex’s infinite damage build should act quickly, as Gearbox will likely fix the build in the coming days.

The discovery came a day after Borderlands 4 launched a PC-exclusive content update, which focused on addressing some issues with the game’s performance. Along with the update, the Borderlands 4 development team provided a settings guide for players with AMD or Nvidia graphics cards to follow, depending on the card they have installed in their gaming rigs. Additionally, Borderlands 4 confirmed that any graphical settings changes will require the game to recompile its shader cache, which could take up to 15 minutes to complete. More fixes for Borderlands 4 will be rolled out as time goes on.

Borderlands 4’s Vex Can Deal Ridiculous Damage With The Right Setup

Although Borderlands 4 has remained focused on fixing some performance bugs, one issue seemingly slipped through the cracks. As stated by YouTube content creator NickTew, a particular build with Vex allows her damage-over-time (DoT) effects to be guaranteed critical hits after hitting a target with a rare throwing knife that has the Penetrator Augment. This weapon augment turns all damage into automatic critical hits for five seconds, including bleeding damage. Ergo, the augment also stacks with Vex’s Bloodletter talent, which is found in the Vexcalation skill tree and gives her critical hits a chance to deal extra kinetic damage via a stacking debuff. NickTew stated that Vex’s infinite damage build works with lower-level weapons and at Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 5, which could make farming for Legendary Loot in Borderlands 4 a much quicker task.

NickTew demonstrated the build against a boss called Primordial Guardian Inceptus, who was defeated in seconds after being hit with two knife throws. Additionally, NickTew stated that Vex’s infinite damage build does not work in multiplayer for unspecified reasons. Ergo, the build is intended for Borderlands 4‘s solo players to have fun with. However, the high damage of the Penetrator Augment throwing knife and Bloodletter combo is likely an oversight from the development team.

Given the consistent pace of Borderlands 4‘s bug fix updates on all platforms, players looking to have fun with Vex’s infinite damage build may not have much time before it is nerfed. It remains to be seen when Gearbox will make its next round of adjustments.
