Boruto Is Officially Bringing Back The Strongest Uchiha In New Release

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is currently in its post-Mamushi arc and awaits the release of its 38th chapter on October 20, 2026. As things stand, the series is delving heavily into the plotline of the Uchiha clan, spearheaded by Sarada Uchiha. This new arc is also focusing on Hidari, one of the Shinju who was created using the parent body of Sasuke.

As such, at the end of this arc, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is officially set to bring back the strongest Uchiha of all time, that is, Sasuke Uchiha, who stood as the protagonist of the original Naruto series and is a beloved character all over the world.

Sasuke Uchiha has been given the short end of the stick in the Boruto series on many occasions. So far, Sasuke has not been given any proper solo battle in the series, but what’s even worse is that his biggest abilities have been stripped from him. In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter 53, released officially on December 20, 2020, Sasuke Uchiha’s Rinnegan was stripped from him when Momoshiki Otsutsuki took over the body of Boruto and stabbed it. Sasuke then went on to play a significant role in saving Boruto Uzumaki once Omnipotence struck in chapter 79 of the series, but things went from bad to worse for him during the time skip, as he was defeated by Code in combat.

“There, I’ve blocked your pesky space-time ninjutsu [Rinnegan]. There’s no escape for you now. It’s the second time I’ve manifested. It sure is nice being free.” — Momoshiki Otsutsuki destroys Sasuke’s Rinnegan, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #53

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 5, released officially on December 20, 2023, we saw Sasuke Uchiha being turned into a tree after being bitten by a Claw Grime. Following this event, a Shinju clone was created of Sasuke with the name of Hidari. Now, however, in the most recent arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Hidari is officially set to fall as he fights against both Code and Sarada Uchiha at the same time. Hidari’s fall will officially facilitate the return of Sasuke Uchiha, as his Thorn Soul Bulb will finally be acquired. Once his Thorn Soul Bulb is in the possession of Sarada and Boruto, all they need to do is go to the tree in which Sasuke is sealed and insert the bulb into it. This would then lead to the inevitable return of Sasuke Uchiha, which we have all been waiting for for 3 long years.

Hidari: You could’ve collected their Thorn Soul Bulb if you wanted, so why didn’t you? Or, rather, why did you bring me back?

Jura: Good question. I’ve never pondered the issue, but just now, when I tried to imagine a world without you in it, I experienced feelings of sadness.

Hidan’s death in itself has already been confirmed in the story as his bond with Jura grows. The grief that stems from the loss of Hidari is being set up by Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto to fuel his strength even further, making him an even more powerful antagonist in the arc to come. Regardless, we are more excited about the return of Sasuke Uchiha after the Boruto series did years of disservice to him.

Why Sasuke Is The Strongest Uchiha Of All Time

Sasuke Uchiha’s return will once again solidify him as the strongest Uchiha of all time. At his peak, Sasuke Uchiha was an incredibly powerful ninja. With the power of the Rinnegan and the Six Paths Yin Chakra that Hagoromo Otsutsuki granted to him in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke became incredibly powerful. In the Boruto series, Sasuke was shown to be strong enough to clash with the likes of Momoshiki Otsutsuki after his fusion with Kinshiki, despite having half of his chakra wasted on space-time ninjutsu. Sasuke was also prevented from utilizing his Rinnegan on most occasions in Boruto because he was simply too powerful and would end battles too easily. Otherwise, quite clearly, Sasuke is the strongest Uchiha of all time, and his powers, which are stated to be equal to those of Naruto Uzumaki, continue to grow.

Interestingly enough, in the timeskip of the Boruto series, Sasuke Uchiha grew even stronger. This is because he trained his mind and body together with Boruto and attained immense strength. In his battle against Code, Sasuke was able to take one of his eyes from him despite not having access to his Rinnegan at the moment. To put that into context, Code, at this point in time, was significantly stronger than Jigen and closer to the level of Isshiki Otsutsuki. Against Jigen, Sasuke struggled despite having access to both Six Paths Powers and the Rinnegan. In fact, neither Naruto nor Sasuke was able to land a single significant blow on him. Yet, without his Rinnegan, Sasuke was able to injure Code severely, even though the latter had access to multiple Claw Grimes around him. Sasuke still lost this battle, but his strength growth was quite evident.

Code: Uchiha, you!!! How dare you take my eye?

Sasuke: Listen closely, Boruto! There’s no way we can win against him right now. So escape. Survive at all costs and build on the skills that I’ve hammered into you. Then nobody will be able to stop you.

— Sasuke displays results of training, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #5

This is further backed up by the release of Boruto Volume 8, in which Mikio Ikemoto states that Boruto and Sasuke train together and are now stronger than ever before.

Sasuke’s Role In Boruto Post-Return

As things stand, Sasuke’s return is incredibly close in the Boruto series, and once he makes his comeback, he is inevitably going to receive a lot of attention from Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto. In the absence of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke has the responsibility to lead from the front once again, which means that, against the threat of Jura and all the other villains that emerge in the future, Sasuke will have to be on the front lines. Even though Boruto is tremendously powerful right now, he is still a student of Sasuke Uchiha. In other words, Sasuke still has a lot to teach him, and this also applies to his own daughter, Sarada Uchiha.

Sasuke might not be the ferocious fighter that he once was, but his experience in battle is still unmatched, and he still has a lot to pass down to the next generation. As such, the upcoming events of the Boruto series will most certainly do justice to the overall character arc of Sasuke Uchiha, and that is something that we are eagerly waiting to see. For now, all eyes remain on Hidari, whose fall is a requirement for Sasuke’s return. With Sarada and Boruto set to confront him in the post-Mamushi arc in an enthralling battle, Hidari is on borrowed time, and Sasuke’s return is just months away.

All the new chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex are available to read via Manga Plus and Viz Media.
