Romance has come to Crimson Desert with the Charting the Unknown DLC, allowing all three protagonists to pick a lover and engage in romantic gestures that might see them become happily married (or unhappily divorced if you’d prefer). Below, we’ll have a full romance guide for Crimson Desert that covers how to romance and marry, what characters can (and can’t) be romanced, and what happens in marriage and divorce.
How to Romance Characters in Crimson Desert
In order to romance a character, you must build their Trust to +100 first, which is easily done with Gold Bars and other gifts, or by talking to them a few times a day.
Once the NPC has +100 Trust, you can begin to flirt with them. Flirting with them before reaching +100 Trust will lower their Trust value.
Now that you can build Flirt, you must reach +100 Flirt before you can Propose, which will allow you to marry NPCs! However, building Flirt will take a few in-game days, as you can only repeat this action so many times before you need to skip time.
What Characters Can (& Can’t) Be Romanced?
You can romance any NPC that has the heart symbol on their Trust icon, as shown in the image above for reference. If a character does not have this symbol, then they cannot be romanced.
Nearly every random NPC can be romanced, as can shop vendors, and even Witches, provided you complete their Witch Sanctum side quests.
Greymanes and other protagonists like Damiane cannot be romanced, so don’t waste your time attempting to flirt, or you’ll be shot down and heartbroken.
You can romance members of the same sex, and Oongka, Kliff, and Damiane all have different romance options.
What Does Marriage Do in Crimson Desert (& Can You Divorce)?
When you are married, your spouse will forever be marked on the map so you know where they are. Your spouse can also move in with you, and you can summon them and travel together. You will also get new gifts from your spouse!
You can divorce your spouse if you have a different romantic partner in mind, but do be careful, as this will have consequences. We’re not sure what those are just yet, so we’ll experiment more with the romance feature.
