Bloober Team has announced that Cronos: Lazarus, the upcoming story expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn, will launch on the 3rd of December for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox, priced at $9.99. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in development and is scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2027.
Cronos: The New Dawn marked Bloober Team’s first step into survival horror, introducing a dark sci‑fi setting and a merge mechanic that allowed enemies to fuse into more dangerous forms. The game went on to earn strong industry recognition, including three awards at Digital Dragons 2026 and the Game of the Year title. It also recouped its development costs within nine months, paving the way for Bloober Team to announce the next chapter during Summer Game Fest earlier this year.
Cronos: Lazarus returns to the same universe, expanding on events that precede the original game. Players take on the role of the Pathfinder, an agent of the Collective whose mission ultimately leads to his transformation into the Warden. The DLC follows his attempts to uncover a revival operation the Collective wants buried, while being hunted by the Tracker — a new antagonist deployed to stop him before the truth comes out. Bloober Team describes the expansion as a third‑person survival horror experience with more aggressive combat and faster‑paced encounters built around resource management and tactical decision‑making.

The Pathfinder gains new abilities for this chapter, including short‑range teleportation for rapid repositioning and a decoy that distracts enemies while briefly rendering him invisible. The expansion also introduces the Gladius, a faster melee weapon than the dagger featured in the original game. Alongside the DLC announcement, Bloober Team confirmed that Cronos: The New Dawn will be discounted by 50% during the Halloween period across Steam, PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
KitGuru says: Cronos: The New Dawn made a strong first impression and now we get to jump back in for new story content. Will you be returning to Cronos for the new DLC?
