If you pre-ordered the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion, especially if you bought the Digital Deluxe Edition, you’ll want to be sure you pick up your pre-order rewards before you start the campaign in earnest. Trouble is, it’s not immediately clear where you need to go to get them. Thankfully, it’s an easy process and well worth the few minutes you’ll spend doing so.
How to Claim Lightfall Pre-Order Rewards and Bonuses
The process for claiming your Lightfall pre-order bonuses and rewards is the same as ever: head to the Tower and speak to Master Rahool, the Cryptarch.
At the top of his menu, you’ll see a section marked “Rahool’s Secret Stash.” You’ll see all the pre-order items available to you there. This is also true if you pre-ordered the expansion but haven’t played Destiny 2 in a while. Your Strand emote, for instance, will be waiting there, as will the Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle.
If you have any Engrams left over from last year, you can turn them in. However, keep your Iron Engrams, as those will be usable again when the Iron Banner activity returns to Destiny in a few weeks’ time.
Don’t expect these bonuses to give you too much of a leg up on other Guardians. While the Ascendant Alloy, Ascendant Shard, and Exotic Cipher materials are some of the harder to come by, you barely get enough to fully upgrade even a few pieces of armor and a couple of crafted weapons.
While a neat Exotic, the Quicksilver Storm is not necessarily the best endgame option. And if you own the Always On Time Sparrow, you have the fastest ride in the game. The Lightfall Sparrow, called Argent Turbo, doesn’t have the same issue granting it additional speed, so its only benefit is its new look.
The new Exotic Ship, Tropopause, is a little awkward in appearance, and there are undoubtedly much more aesthetically pleasing choices in the Eververese store if you have the Bright Dust or want to spend some real money on Silver.
Despite these limitations, the Lightfall pre-order bonuses are a nice, well, bonus to your collections. While they’re not game-breaking, they show your commitment to protecting the people of Earth, or at least to the Destiny franchise. For more Destiny 2 content, see our guides hub.
