Following the reveal of the Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime at the Dragon Ball Genkidama Matsuri event earlier this year, the April 2026 issue of V-Jump is finally starting to tease the new series by revealing the anime’s next major villain: Planet Eater Moro. Introduced in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 43, “Joining the Galactic Patrol!”, Moro is an ancient wizard who breaks free from Galactic Patrol imprisonment and starts wreaking havoc across Universe 7.

Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, which is often called the Moro arc by fans. Moro is one of the greatest and most dangerous villains in Dragon Ball Super, sporting raw power and ferocity the series hasn’t seen since Perfect Cell all the way back in Dragon Ball Z. The Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga is 25 chapters long, so if all goes well, the anime will adapt the manga one chapter per episode, keeping Toyotarou’s tight pacing intact.

Goku & Vegeta Are About to Meet Their Match in Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol
V-Jump describes Moro as, “a terrifying guy who absorbs energy from planets,” but this barely sells just how intimidating Moro is. Moro starts out weaker than both Goku and Vegeta, but it doesn’t take long for him to absorb enough energy to far overpower the two Saiyans. At his peak, Moro is a God-Tier villain who cannot be beaten without the help of Ultra Instinct.
Dragon Ball: 10 Strongest Saiyan Power Levels From Planet Vegeta, Ranked
The Saiyans are by far the strongest warrior race in Dragon Ball – or they would have been if Frieza didn’t wipe out their species.
Moro manages to beat Goku and Vegeta multiple times over the course of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, subjecting them to some of the most violent injuries seen in all of Dragon Ball. Moro is as cruel as he is ruthless, committing genocide on planet after planet with a Frieza-esque ferocity. Goku and Vegeta will need to grow stronger than ever just to stand a chance against Moro in Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol.
Moro Will Be Dragon Ball Super’s Best Villain Since Zamasu & Goku Black
Zamasu and Goku Black are rightfully considered the best villains in Dragon Ball Super, but Moro is about to give them a run for their money. While Zamasu has a better motivation, Moro has a fascinating backstory, expands Dragon Ball‘s lore considerably, and has one of the most interesting skill sets in the series. By the end of the arc, Moro has a myriad of abilities and even has access to Ultra Instinct.
10 Most Important Dragon Ball Characters (Right Now)
With the Black Frieza Saga and the Dragon Ball Super anime remake just around the corner, the series’ most important characters are quite unique.
Best of all, Moro challenges Goku and Vegeta in unique ways. For Goku, Moro pushes him to reconsider what it means to protect the universe while desperately trying to find a way to master Ultra Instinct ASAP. For Vegeta, Moro’s rampage on New Namek forces Vegeta to reckon with his past sins and recognize that while he can never truly redeem himself, he will always do what he can to own his violent path and become a true hero. Moro is about to give Goku and Vegeta their best-written character development since Dragon Ball Z.
