Dune: Awakening – Official Games of Power: The Landsraad Explained Trailer

Central to Dune: Awakening’s mid-to-endgame is the Landsraad, the council of Great Houses that makes decisions that impact all the servers in your World. Watch the latest Dune: Awakening trailer for a deep dive into the Landsraad, your objectives, factions, and more. Dune: Awakening will be available on PC on June 5, 2025 for Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners and on June 10, 2025 for Standard Edition owners.

Your goal and that of your guild is to secure their votes so that your faction – the Harkonnen or Atreides – can take control of the Landsraad. You can work alone, with friends, or even attempt coordinating across multiple guilds to secure these votes by completing specific house requirements. Whether you prefer PvE or PvP, there are a multitude of activities to participate in that will benefit not just your faction, but also you personally as fulfilling house requirements also unlocks special rewards.

So I can support my faction to win then have access to upgrades that will help me keep winning in the future. I see.

I'm curious how the balance will work with this game, if one house wins they get an obvious edge. What is to keep them from continuing to hold that edge come the next Landsraad? How is the other House supposed to topple them so they can get a shot at it if they lack the advantage?

Favatar

It is a game. For sure.

The mixture of primal survival on the surface mixed with the "civilized" often complicated, and snake like attributes in politics is a really cool duality for the game.

Pass.

It looks great for people with no jobs that can dedicate their life to the game. But I am not that guy.

I wonder what Funcom’s plans are to prevent players from organizing the servers into landslide majorities for one faction or the other.

Man, this could have been a really cool open world rpg but instead it’s just another half-assed multiplayer shooter with a mobile game’s mindset.

Favatar

This game is going to be using a Kernel Level Anti-Cheat security. That's bad news for gamers, for sure.

So like, are you able to do all these with a team of NPC squads mates or do you need a group of 4-5 friends to actually compete.

Favatar

Will there be larger harvester and carryall vehicle in the future updates?
I must say, the size of player made harverster here feels underwhelming. Perhaps probably because lore wise, it is what we as the players, can only afford at this point.

I hoped we could ride the sandworms

These are the lesser houses of the landsraad. I want the option to support Ixian control over house hog or house chicken.

Concise Summary (Based on Frank Herbert's Canon & Canonical Expansions):

Status of Women in House Harkonnen:

Women possess zero political, military, or social power. The House is strictly patriarchal and deeply misogynistic.

Their primary roles are as sexual objects/concubines (property for male pleasure) and biological tools for breeding.

They are viewed as genetic material and "incubators". Their consent, well-being, or individual value is irrelevant. Forced breeding programs (often using Bene Tleilax tech) and marriages of political convenience are standard.

Lower-caste women serve as servants/slaves.

They are completely powerless property, subject to violence and exploitation without recourse.

Harkonnen Women as Warriors:

No, a Harkonnen woman cannot be an official warrior. Their culture and social structure categorically forbid it.

Warfare, power, and strength are exclusively male domains. A woman bearing arms or commanding troops is unthinkable within Harkonnen society.

No canonical examples exist of female Harkonnens serving as recognized warriors in the House's military or guard.

Exceptions prove the rule:

Sepha (Legends of Dune): A non-Harkonnen lower-caste woman served as the Baron's personal assassin/bodyguard in his youth. This was a unique, anomalous, and covert role, not an official warrior position. She was despised.

Ghola Jessica (Schools of Dune): A non-Harkonnen captive created by the Tleilaxu. Her Bene Gesserit fighting skills were suppressed; her sole purpose was breeding. She did not serve as a warrior.

Conclusion: Canonically, women in House Harkonnen have no rights or status and exist as property for sexual use and forced breeding. The concept of a female Harkonnen holding the recognized position and honor of a warrior is fundamentally incompatible with the House's misogynistic tyranny as established in the source material.

Yes, I understand that female characters are an integral part of modern culture. In WoW, it looked nice. But choose such a complexly structured and accurately described universe now and decide to do everything your own way.

I've changed my mind about buying your game completely. If I want to play Conan, I play Conan. If I want to play Dune, I don't want to play Conan.

the world of Dune was nailed, but the NPC's and melee gameplay are abyssmally outdated and janky + not well optimized, AI is worst than ubisoft game…really hope they pull off something better…me and my buddies decided to wait before buying…..we spent thousands of hours on Conan and saw minor improvements …better visually and design wise, some UI improvements…but a similar world layout and quest system…

i was really excited about this game, but then they ruined it with the building decay system. i'm not going to spend my time building a base and then lose it. for a few days of inactivity. to start all over again That system is downright predatory. Just to keep us playing. i won't participate in that coercive gameplay. i'm pretty sure a lot of people will see it that way too.
What a waste of development time, the game had so much promise.
