A creative fan of Elden Ring is showing off their stunning Maliketh cosplay from a recent convention, featuring exquisite detailing and even some lighting effects for the costume. The beloved open-world RPG from developer FromSoftware captured the hearts of millions of gamers with its 2022 release, after being one of the most highly-anticipated launches in gaming history. Elden Ring saw instant success, with FromSoftware later releasing a sizable DLC in Shadow of the Erdtree and even a full spinoff this year with Elden Ring Nightreign. Now, a fan is honoring one of the most memorable aspects of the RPG.
Much like FromSoftware’s previous games, one of the most beloved aspects of Elden Ring for many fans is the game’s lineup of bosses. Elden Ring boasts more than 200 bosses to find throughout its grimdark fantasy world, with many becoming iconic parts of gaming culture following the game’s success. Bosses like Malenia, Maliketh, and Margit have served as some of the most memorable enemies from the game, with Shadow of the Erdtree and Nightreign introducing even more to the franchise. One fan is now showing off their stunning homage to a particular Elden Ring boss.
Reddit user Dracostega_V showed off their impressive Maliketh, the Black Blade cosplay on the official Elden Ring subreddit. The user shares that the costume was created and worn for a recent “Comic Con” event, showing the masterfully crafted suit of armor complete with Maliketh’s wolf fur underneath. The cosplay features a scale replica of Maliketh’s sword, with the user even revealing that they used LED lights to illuminate the red cracks of the sword. The creator also shares that the cosplay was created “entirely freehand,” without using any guides or templates for the outfit.

The cosplay elicited plenty of praise from impressed fans in the replies of the Reddit post. Many users took to sharing quotes from the iconic Elden Ring boss within the replies, reciting some of the most memorable lines from Maliketh’s appearance and boss fight in Elden Ring. One user also praised the cosplayer’s older work while complimenting their eye for detail within the cosplay, having previously shared a cosplay of Dark Souls boss Knight Artorias.
The impressive cosplay of Elden Ring‘s Maliketh, the Broken Blade comes as Elden Ring fans have been given plenty of reasons to be excited about the franchise’s future throughout the year. FromSoftware officially debuted the previously-mentioned Elden Ring: Nightreign as a new spinoff earlier this year, tasking players with teaming up to gather resources and defeat waves of bosses. The developer also confirmed a brand-new group of players will soon get to try out the beloved RPG, with Elden Ring officially confirmed for a Switch 2 release. Elden Ring‘s already impressive legacy will surely continue to inspire fans for years to come.
