Keen Games has announced that Enshrouded has managed to pass a pretty significant player milestone in just a few short days.
According to a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Enshrouded passed the million player mark within its first four days on sale, which isn’t too shabby.
The game’s success might not quite reach the dizzying heights of fellow open-world survival craft-’em-up Palworld, but a million players in four days is still nothing to be sniffed at.
In its post, Keen Games says it’s “blown away” by Enshrouded‘s success and the “overwhelmingly positive” reception. Technically, the game stands at a Very Positive rating on Steam right now, but I guess they’re speaking figuratively.
The studio goes on to say that it’s looking forward to continuing Enshrouded development with the community’s support in order to make it “the best game it can be”.
Hopefully, that means a roadmap with future content updates will be on the way soon, again a la Palworld. Several hotfixes have already been released for Enshrouded since it launched, correcting issues like random crashes and save data updating incorrectly.
If you’re not familiar with Enshrouded, it’s an open-world survival-crafting RPG that looks to blend gameplay systems from the likes of Valheim, Elden Ring, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
As well as the usual building, resource-gathering, and survival mechanics you’d expect from the genre, Enshrouded throws in a handcrafted world and a rather unique fog mechanic that aims to balance risk and reward when exploring.
Enshrouded is in Early Access at the moment, and Keen Games says it’s aiming to launch the full version “within a year”, although whether it adheres to that goal remains to be seen.
