Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have end game content, director confirms

For the past two games in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, players have had to beat the game once in order to unlock Hard mode. For the final game in the series, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the developers have revealed to do away with this system, promising a completely reworked high-difficulty option.

In an interview with Hardcore Gamer, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation director, Naoki Hamaguchi, said that the new game’s difficulty modes “won’t function in the exact same way”, adding that Hard mode has been “reimagined to align with the new game design”.

This includes the ability to select Hard mode from the very start of the game, so you won’t have to beat it twice. Hamaguchi said that this decision was mode because Revelation “offers a wide variety of endgame content” which is accessible even after finishing the main story. The previous two games didn’t have this, although they did each have plenty of side content available concurrent with the main story.

This is also the first time we’ve heard about any significant ‘end game’ for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. It would seem that the main story is just the beginning here, with even more waiting for players after the credits roll.
