First Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Update Hits PC Following Fan Fury

The first Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection update has landed, and it fixes a whole host of bugs and issues that have plagued the game since its launch last week.

Most of the bug fixes in the update are related to visuals and audio, although last week, Aspyr confirmed its commitment to fixing Battlefront Classic Collection‘s many network issues as well.

The update is available right now on PC, but Aspyr says that console players will have to wait a little longer, as the studio is still in the midst of the certification process for the update on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.

“It’s over, Anakin! I’ve fixed all the bugs!”

The multiplayer fixes for this Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection update are relatively tame, being limited to a crash related to “client message sends”, a missing launch prompt when joining a server, and password-locked games appearing in the Quick Match menu.

On the visual side, fixed bugs include zoomed-in scope crosshairs not appearing properly on widescreen displays, as well as issues with AI units, map textures, and effects.

There are many other miscellaneous fixes available as part of the update as well. You can read the full Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection patch notes right here

Whether this update will be enough to placate angry fans who are disappointed with what they perceive to be the collection’s low quality remains to be seen. The Steam discussion forums for the update feature a mix of fans praising Aspyr for its work and criticizing it for the update being “too little, too late”.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection should offer a slightly smoother experience now.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a new remaster package by developer Aspyr. It collects the first two Star Wars: Battlefront titles and implements a number of improvements, including remastered visuals and improved performance.

You can grab the collection on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch right now. The first update is available for PC now, and will presumably be made available for consoles soon. If you’d like to know how the collection fared with our reviewer Austin, you can read his review right here.
