Future Dragon’s Dogma 2 Updates Include New Game Fix, Console Graphics Options, and More

Capcom has revealed some of the updates it’s working on in order to address common player criticisms of recently-released RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released last week, and since its launch, players have criticized its performance on both console and PC, as well as a perceived overabundance of paid DLC and the frequency of crashes and bugs.

The developer addressed those criticisms in a response on Steam shortly after launch, and now, Capcom has shared more information about exactly what it intends to do in upcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2 updates.

Capcom is planning to address some of Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s most common criticisms soon.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Capcom says it’s planning to release a number of fixes and updates “in the near future”.

Fixes coming for all platforms include the ability to start a new game when you’ve already created save data, as well as increasing the number of “Art of Metamorphosis” items (which allow you to change your appearance or your pawn’s appearance) available via Pawn Guilds to 99.

You can also look forward to a number of new graphics options on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, including the ability to toggle motion blur and ray tracing, as well as an option to cap the frame rate at 30fps.

Some players have criticized Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s lack of additional save file slots, but that doesn’t appear to be on the list of fixes, and nor does a change to the availability of fast travel items in the game. It looks like Capcom is sticking to its guns on those particular points.

We don’t yet know when these features will be released, but Capcom says updates will arrive “as soon as they are ready for distribution on each platform”, so watch this space for more info.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can check out our review of the game here, and make sure to take a look at our guides if you’re struggling to find your footing in this reactive and often surprising open-world game.
