It’s about as natural for some titles to be nominated for Game of the Year as it is a cold day in you-know-where for others. However, this year, the nominees for the highest honors in gaming are of such high caliber that it’s almost ridiculous.
It’s nearly as unprecedented as 2023, which is something that none of us would have thought when it started. So why not discuss each game’s chances heading into awards season?

I'm Hades 2 or Absolum all the way 😊
Expedition 33 is the best game ive ever played. Its a game im so proud to have started playing from release. Im gonna riot if it doesnt win and Beyoncé wins goty somehow lol. Its hard to explain what makes it so great but its one of those games that I wont watch any YouTube videos to play it. I want to experience every second of it on my own
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 ftw!
I would say there is nearly a zero percent chance of any game other than E33 winning GotY. E33 is a new IP from a small development team with lots of new ideas, a beautiful story, and an incredible soundtrack. Everything else is really just sequels or stuff we have seen before. For me personally, E33 just narrowly edges out KCD2 for GotY. DS2 was also incredible, as is Hades 2. Donkey Kong is least likely to win.
Silk Song – Game of the year!
expedition 33 is an art of the video games it never fades even century from now🎉
Ngl at this point Donkey kong bananza is winning
Expedition 33 Overrated in every way ! Im trying to find such a clue for that game for winning game of the year but i found none ! But in every section also here not the best games always win game of the year . Just compare RDR 2 not winning game of the year and everything is clear to everyone !!
E33 across the board.
This "battle" has already been won. And it was not even close. Clair Obscur is the clear and only winner, not because it is cool or trendy to support it, but because it earned it. It earned it by being a phenomenal game that delivers in every aspect, with some of the best gameplay, story, music, voice acting, and much more. The vast majority of people who have played it have loved it, and for some like myself, it is potentially the greatest gaming experience ever released.
Super Mario world on super nes should win game of the year every year until the end of the world
The only game that could beat COE33 is Donkey Kong Bonanza. I voted for Jen as Best Performer and Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: E33 as GOTY. But my best concern is "What is the next for Clair Obscur?" Would it be "Clair Obscur: Rivalité d’excellence" or maybe "Clair Obscur: Rivalités entre partis"? What ever it could be, gamers need a very fine sequel that expands and improves the overall world of the Clair Obscur. Please listen Sandfall.
No madness… 33 for the win 😂🙄
Xbox stupidly releasing oblivion the day before expedition 33 and now allowing it to reach its full player peak on releases but it's still the best game, anyone saying death stranding 2 has a chance is having a laugh, I finished it and maybe 8/10 at best was better then the 1st game story still a bit mid
Let me tell you something… Expedition 33 is going to win, it made it into my top 3 games of all time and this is my current list and I play pretty much every big game and even niche games that releases.
1.Clair obscur:
expedition 33
2.Elden Ring
3. Baldur's Gate 3
4.Persona 5
My personal goty is Death Stranding 2.
I personally didn't enjoy Expedition 33 due to 1 hit combat halfway through the game (Maelle) and a story ending that was so abrupt that I was left with more questions than answers.
I'd choose Silksong.
It's my pick.
Although most guesses are… just "obvious",
let's remember that the future is always hiding something.
It's not very often I agree with the industry choice for goty. This year is no exception. E33 is just not my cup of tea at all.
Expedition 33 clearly deserves it, and rightfully so.
Silksong is solid, but GOTY goes to Expedition 33, hands down.
Obviously Expedition 33. Other than DK, the rest are rest sequels.
The GOTY nominees are
a sequel
a sequel
a sequel
a sequel
a sequel
Something actually new.
KCD2 Deserves it.
E33 is the most overrated game ever. It’s childish and pseudo intellectual, trying to disguise itself as a masterpiece. It’s pretentious and Maelle is an annoying brat. It’s so theatrical all it misses is the characters sometimes starting a random singing session like in a musical. E33 is a masterpiece in the eyes of Marvel fans and similar cultural illiterates.
On the other side you have KCD2, a deep, yet subtle masterpiece. But it’s too slow and deep for TikTok-brains today. And it shows, it wins GOTY among all the older and experienced reviewers who’ve been in the industry for a long time
It’s a tie between expedition 33 and Absolum . Two very different games but I love them both .
George St. Pierre
Blue Prince is my favourite. I've been playing it since April and I still haven't figured out every puzzle.I love the game. Clair Obscur is definitely a close 2nd place though. I only started playing it at last weekend but I'm totally looked already. A gorgeous game.
I played three of these games, Silksong, Exp 33 and DHL-Kojima. There is really only one contender here and it’s Exp 33. The online discourse is centered around this game and it going to win. If GOTY wants to survive they can’t have any other game win. If not they completely lose credibility.
I like many others struggled with silksong at launch. Was difficult and different but at the end of the day it’s the best damn Metroidvania I ever played and deserves a goty
Ghost of Yotei is a masterpiece worth everything
"For those who come after…"
E:33 easily.
Hope DS2 wins
