Stats, Typing and Moves

Picture Garganacl as a walking salt crystal with serious staying power: max CP hits 3065, base Attack 171 (kinda meh), Defense 212, and Stamina 225, making it bulky, but not a damage monster. As a pure Rock type, it laughs off Normal, Flying, Fire, and Poison attacks, but oof—it’s toast against Fighting, Ground, Steel, Water, and Grass.

Moves-wise, it’s straightforward: Fast options are Smack Down and Mud Shot. Charged moves? All Rock: Rock Blast (multi-hit spammer), Ancient Power (boost chance for clutch moments), and Rock Tomb (debuffs opponent’s attack).

Garganacl in Pokémon GO PvE

In PvE, Garganacl is significantly outclassed by other top-tier rock attackers like Rampardos, Rhyperior, and Megas. Using our DPS comparer tool

As we can see Garganacl’s performance is nowhere close to top Rock raid attackers in the game. Best raid offense set: Smack Down + Rock Blast. This combination gives it the highest Rock DPS it can achieve, but its low Attack means its damage output lags behind established Rock raid staples.

Garganacl in Pokémon GO PvP
General icon

In PvP, Garganacl leans into its good defensive stats but is held back by one-dimensional charge moves and exploitable weaknesses. Its lack of coverage means Grass, Ground, and Fighting types not only hit it super effectively but also shrug off Rock damage in extended fights. The ideal moveset for Garganacl in PvP : Mud Shot with Ancient Power and Rock Tomb, although Smack Down as fast move is a viable alternative.

Great League icon
Great League

Garganacl in open Great League, as expected of a Rock type, performs well against Flying types like Talonflame or Altaria, and even beats the likes of Bastiodon and Wigglytuff. However, aside from the above mentions, it struggles against other top meta picks like Galarian Corsola, Azumarill and Marowak. It can be a sneaky pick in certain theme cups, especially in cups where skies are full of birds.

Garganacl’s ideal IV spread for Great League is 1/14/14, 1497 CP, Level 21.

Ultra League icon
Ultra League

Garganacl has potential here, its stat product is quite strong, and it can feel bulky. Ultra League tends to reward bulk, but that bulk is most effective when paired with broad coverage or disruptive effects; Garganacl’s all-Rock kit means it often gets outclassed by more versatile tanks. Some of its key wins do include top meta picks like Corviknight, Galarian Moltres and Lapras but popular Fighting types like Cobalion and Virizion and Water types like Feraligatr give it a tough time, overriding its bulk advantage.

Garganacl’s ideal IV spread for Ultra League is 0/13/15, 2497 CP, Level 40.5.

At level 50 with 15/15/15 IVs, Garganacl caps at 3065 CP, which is too low for open Master League. Its spiciest of spice at best, don’t force it unless you feeling risky!

What the Future Holds
General icon

Garganacl and its pre evolution-Naclstack have a signature move: Salt Cure. With Garganacl being a 3 stage evolution line along with a signature move to boot, it has all the perfect ingredients to be a future Community Day Pokémon. Who knows, if the move is treated right along with a few move updates, we can potentially have a top PvP meta pick in the form of Garganacl. So, hold onto a good IV one if you get, you never know when it can come in handy!

Conclusion
General icon

Garganacl might not be rewriting the meta books just yet, but it brings something fresh to the table for Rock type fans. Its sturdy design and defensive potential make it a decent off-meta pick in certain PvP scenarios. In raids, it’s outshined by heavy hitters but that could all change down the line if its signature move, Salt Cure, makes its way into Pokémon GO. A move update or special event could be all it takes for this walking salt fortress to find its place among the greats.
