GTA 6 Leaker Has 390k Of Their Own Crypto In A Wallet

For the last few days, a leaker, going by the name Cyberleek, has been revealing large segments of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay. Doing so under the guise of fighting Rockstar’s anti-consumer practices, the mysterious person has been soliciting “donations” in their own cryptocurrency.

Those donations, it turns out, appear to be making Cyberleek a pretty penny, as someone has calculated they’ve earned between $40,000 and $60,000 in trading fees, while still sitting on $390,000 of their own coin.

Since Tuesday, CyberLeek has been drip-feeding the internet with Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. It started with the map and some gameplay, revealing a bunch of never-before-seen mechanics, and continued with tons more footage split into five drops so far. The latest of these showed a plane flying through the skies of Leonida. The specifics of this leak were voted on by Cyberleek’s audience.

The leaker has been doing this under the guise of consumer protection, vowing to fight the decisions Rockstar has made, namely the $100 Ultimate Edition and the lack of a physical product. They have, themself, however, been requesting donations via a cryptocurrency named Cyberleek. Players could, for example, only vote on what leak would come next if they made a purchase. It seems this has all been very lucrative for the leaker.

Over on the GTAForums, user Vice Cit did some digging into the situation, which involved a trip into the dark web. After first explaining how Cyberleek set up their crypto wallets, they dove deep into the finances of it all.

It started with a $29,000 outlay from Cyberleek. This helped create a website and its cryptocurrency. They then earn a fee each time a transaction involving the coin occurs, between 0.21 percent and 0.25 percent of the dollar amount. On day one, the coin did $15 million in trading volume, netting the leaker $30,000 in transaction fees, ensuring they broke even in 24 hours.

Since then, Vice Cit suggests it’s been trading on average $2.1 million a day, netting Cyberleek roughly $4,400 each day. This has been estimated to have made Cyberleek between $40,000 and $60,000 in trading fees alone, and that’s before we get into what’s sitting in their crypto wallet.

The Leaker has 270,000,000 Cyberleek coins sitting in their wallet. These have a total value of $391,000. Liquidating them wouldn’t be easy, but they have tangible value.

Call me a cynic, but that is a lot of money made from Rockstar’s potential consumers, all while they preach consumer protection. They have been quiet since the last leak, so who knows if Rockstar’s crack team have finally tracked them down.
