Been playing HLL since last Christmas and it's safe to say this Rank 81 (Butterbar 2nd Lt) is beyond excited

the asymmetric aspect will be a challenge as far as balance goes.
sure, having helicopters is cool … until you take potshots from everyone on the map.
same for tunnel networks..imagine the ability to tunnel through a HLL size map, and thats not a helicopter you can shoot down.
another interesting aspect would be the NVA approach of warfare as a whole ie hit and run tactics; the utilisation of camouflage of people and objects and they heavily relied on traps. and typically you saw them when it was too late.
are there traps? if so, the current re-arm/resupply mechanic would not work in this scenario because nothing could stop you from plastering the battlefield bit by bit with one shot traps you only can see when its too late.
dont get me wrong, im carefully optimistic about this but thats a HARD thing to make fair AND fun

Hell let loose has some of the best terrain ever in a game, its great to walk around, mostly alone, unfortunately the combat is useless and its very hard to understand what I'm trying to do. If they could have call of Duty characters and guns this would have been fun. It was almost good

I want to see a Korean War one too, Vietnam and Korea are both part of the Cold War and absolutely deserve recognition and makes for incredible gameplay
Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam is the best VietNAM game because of the frostbite engine of destruction you would have to scorch earth the foliage to expose the enemy especially on HARDCORE no kill cams sniper gameplay was on another level.
I rediscovered hll while waiting for bf6 and completely forgot how much I love this game. I'm now more excited for hllv than bf6
I hope one day we get games in wars that don't involve us. Like Falkland War, rhodesian War ,Portuguese overseas war, second and first congo war an moch others. World conflicts. The potential is there.

People put here acting like Prairie Fire for Arma 3 doesn't exist. By FAR the best Nam game to date. This game will have a lot to live up to when you stack it up next to S.O.G.
Bad Company 2 Vietnam was so damn special to me, cant wait for this one
I so badly want a survival horror game set in the jungle of Vietnam. It could be a story or a pve/pvp. You have 5 man marine squads that have to jump through the jungle. You have a very limited inventory with everything you have to carry to survive. You have to eat, and drink. Set up and take down a camp. The horror comes in due to the fact the enemy could be anywhere at anytime and all hell could break out. Night time is filled with creepy recordings being blasted amongst animal predators like lions that might hunt you, or venomous snakes and spiders could get you at anytime. Realistic weather systems. You have objectives your group has to go to but it's through completely rigged terrain with tunnels and booby traps anywhere. I really feel like this could be such a great game idea.

It's honestly mind boggling how comedians, "celebrities," YouTube channels etc. can't grasp the fact that all you do is LOSE subs/fans talking this way. For God's sake, grow up already.

Oh thank fuck it won't use kernel level anti cheat, i'm playing on linux and normal anti cheats are already a pain sometimes, kernel level anti cheat are not worth the bother at all
Vietnam is criminally underrepresented in video games! VC players being faster on foot but carrying less ammo and equipment would be cool for realism also some civilian NPCs on the map for war crime realism

Vietnam is often not used because the Americans were badly beaten there and the Americans prefer to see themselves as the winners and therefore only ever use World War II scenarios. That way, you can feel better about yourself than in a game where you really screwed up in real life.
