Helldivers 2 Devs Still Working on Fix for Mission Reward Issue, Grant Huge Bonuses for the Weekend

Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 has been very successful, but the unexpected influx of players has caused some issues at the onset.

While the developers have been working very hard at fixing problems that manifested at launch, they’re still working on an issue preventing some players from receiving the proper rewards at the end of their missions, as announced on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

That being said, Arrowhead is endeavoring to make it up to the players with extensive bonuses during the weekend.

According to the announcement, until the end of Sunday, February 18 (central Europe time), the game will grant all players a massive 50% bonus on both XP and requisition. If you’re wondering, this should be equivalent to 11:00 pm GMT, 6 PM EST, and 3 PM PST on Sunday.

This is effective immediately and you’ll see that the multiplayer is active by the Game Master Effect “Accounting Corrections” appearing on the Super Destroyer.

The bonus certainly appears to be effective in drawing more players into the fold, as the game just peaked at 276,364 concurrent players on Steam, approximately 21,000 more than yesterday (according to monitoring portal SteamDB).

Despite the issues, it looks like the game is still providing a whole lot of people with a whole lot of fun, and the weekend promises to be rather big.

Helldivers 2 is available for PS5 and PC via Steam, and it’s published by PlayStation on both platforms. If you’d like to see more, you can check out the latest trailer and another.

With Sony renewing its commitment to publish some of its games on PC to improve profitability, this game certainly appears to be a poster boy for the viability of that strategy, bringing both revenue and players into the fold, which I’m confident PlayStation’s executives are quite pleased about.
