Honkai Star Rail: How to Defeat Svarog

Svarog can be one of the tougher story bosses in Honkai: Star Rail, and if you want to get out of Belabog’s underground, you’ll have to go through him. Like most enemies in the game, his attack list isn’t particularly long, but what he does have packs a punch, and he’s got a health bar three miles long. Thankfully, with the proper setup and strategy, you can defeat Svarog.

Here’s how.

How to Beat Svarog in Honkai: Star Rail

Svarog will attach immediately as soon as the fight starts. As the fight progresses, he’ll use additional attacks. They are:

  • Burning Beam: A laser beam emitted from Svarog’s palm that deals at least 200 damage. Svarog often uses it as an extra attack.
  • Shrewd Bombing: A party-wide missile barrage that doesn’t deal much damage in a single attack but adds up significantly as more missiles come in and can inflict multiple turns of the Defense Down debuff.
  • Banishing Punch: A simple haymaker that deals as much damage as the Burning Beam, and Svarog often pairs the punch and the beam together.

Three attacks are all Svarog can muster, but thanks to his beefy health bar, expect to be sent packing if you don’t come with some kind of support character. We recommend either March 17 if you haven’t been doing many pulls, but if you’ve managed to snag Natasha, she is an even better option.

Svarog is also weak to Wind, Lightning, and Fire, so Dan Heng is great here for his single-target potential, and Serval, Asta, and Hook can also work wonders. Should you have any 5-stars in your collection, especially if you rerolled, Himeko, Bronya, or Bailu can come in very handy here.

Use your ultimates liberally but smartly. Keep your support character topped up first and foremost, then use them to augment your party composition. If you’re using any follow-up attack characters, especially Clara, ensure they have the survivability to last the whole fight. In other cases, provide characters with healing or shields as needed.

At 70% health, the fight with Svarag will temporarily stop as Natasha and Simko arrive. When the battle resumes, all your characters will be fully healed with full Ultimates. Don’t be afraid to unleash those powerful abilities immediately, though your support Ultimates might be best held onto.

The fight will take a few minutes, but if you’re judicious with your heals and shields and break Svarog whenever possible, victory is all but assured.
