It helped that the competion was infinite warfare in a time where people were tired of double jumping, wall running, and sliding

Bf1 absolutely slaps. Probably the battlefield game I have the most hours in EASILY.

I know you aren't stating your opinion on infinite warfare, but aside from them needed to give Kit Harrington something to work with, the story and gameplay was actually pretty damn good. Even then I didn't mind kotch so much as the villian because we were fighting the martians all game and he was simply one admiral

BF1 is the game I've had the most "trailer" moments in, wether it's an advance under cas, a rolling artilery barrage or just hosing down a plane on your six. It just happens

1:20 poor titanfall 2 did not follow this rule

as a battlefield fan playing battlefield 1 the moment it came out, i can say that the pure chaos of endless players fighting in the mountain side of monte grappa paired with mortar trucks and planes coming in dropping bombs and the endless poison gas, incendeniary grenades, frag grenades, destruction and dynamites, the entire trailer itself is 99.999% of the trailer is 99.999% accurate inside the game itself.

Please remaster bf1

And the game delivered on almost everything shown in the trailer. The cutscenes, weapons, planes, levels. The only thing shown in the trailer that didn't fit was the 'levelation' of a windmill collapsing when a plane crashed into it

It still didn't outsell cod lmao, and you niggas exaggerate the hate IW got. Yes it was extremely hated but it still outsold for a reason. And only around 1 mil dislikes were real. There were literally videos and posts asking people to dislike the video to see how many dislikes they could get it to just because, and people would create multiple accounts just for it.

Bf1 is the best Bf because you can feel every bulled you shoot fly! Its the handling feedback! In the counter of BF 2052 You can not feel how the sniper bulled fly! Same with anti Tank Projektiles! They all have a somehow speed you cannot calculate travel time of the distance makes hits random!

when u play bf 1 to admire their creation, as an art, u ll truly see how much love they poured in this game. from the soundtrack to multiplayer experience, it feels awesome. doesn't feel repetitive like nowadays multiplayer games. one more thing I would like to add that your multiplayer experience, weapons & vehicles. map's atmosphere keeps changing depending on in which map u r playing. if u r playing senai desert there will be desert storm, if u r playing empire's map there will be fog and there is lot more.
hats off for those game creators. it's bestest best game which still firmly standing and keeps amazing us.

The game being a WW1 title already made it stand out from most games that either took the modern or WW2 era. The timing was simply perfect as their competitior made a cringy trailer and reused the jetpack mechanic so many were already tired of.

Still in my top 3 shooters of all time. Helldivers took over for me for the sheer fun factor.

Another thing about the timing: people hated infinite warfare because they were tired of futuristic cods, so battlefield 1 being set in ww1 was the perfect contrast. Ww1 was also the earliest war that used submachine guns and shotguns.

This was my favorite shooter of all time, until helldivers 2. I played bf1 3 nights ago, good to see people still on it.

If only the gun play didn't have random bullet deviation spread. It would've been perfect.

I feel the use of “seven nation army” was a great pick as there were 7 major nations taking part in ww1: France,Germany,Russia,Austria Hungary, England,America and Italy
