How To Defeat Parrotmon In Digimon Story Time Stranger

Jump Links

Depending on how much you take advantage of its various systems, Digimon Story Time Stranger‘s difficulty can vary wildly. Similarly, some boss fights spike considerably in difficulty from the random encounters within the same area, and may force you to rethink your entire strategy or bring in specialized teams for just that fight.

Parrotmon is one such boss, and likely the first you’ll come across to give you trouble. Below, we’ll show you exactly how to beat this boss, including how to prevent it from healing with its lightning strikes, as well as some Digimon we recommend using.

Parrotmon’s Strengths, Weaknesses, and Attacks

Parrotmon is a Vaccine Digimon, so it’s weak to Data and strong against Virus. It’s weak to Fire and Earth damage, resists Wind, and fully resists Electricity. All other elements deal a standard amount of damage.

To begin the fight, Parrotmon will cast Gale Storm II, dealing wind damage to the party. Throughout the fight, Parrotmon will use Thunder Charge to heal itself for a bit, and Lightning Strike, which will heal Parrotmon for each strike. However, you can prevent this by bringing a Digimon with a metal body, like Hagurumon, or any of its evolutions, like Guardromon, Clockmon, or Blimpmon.

If one of these Digimon is on the field, the lightning will strike them instead, preventing the boss from healing itself.

After a few turns, Parrotmon will begin charging up its ultimate attack, Mjolnir Thunder, exposing the Crest on its head. Hit this point to break through the gauge and prevent Parrotmon’s attack. Parrotmon’s Crest has different elemental affinities compared to its body. The Crest is weak to Water, Ice, Holy, and Null, but resists Fire, and Ground. Electricity still won’t work.

Make use of Cross Art: Strike to break the Crest more easily.

If you can’t break the gauge in time, get ready to heal up and block, because Mjolnir Thunder will deal high damage to the entire party, and has a high chance of inflicting paralysis.

Now, Parrotmon will begin to use Shock Plasma I, dealing several hits of electricity damage to one target, and Thunder Fall II, dealing electricity damage to the entire party. Additionally, it will occasionally cast Harden, boosting its defense stat.

Around 40 percent health remaining, Merukimon will join the battle, making things significantly easier with his Thousand Fists attack, which deals a ton of damage to the boss. If you can hold out until then, the rest of the fight will go a lot smoother.

Since Parrotmon is a Vaccine Digimon, the best way to brute force your way through this fight is to load up a team of six Data Digimon. If you want to use the least amount of strategy possible to beat this boss, use as many Data Digimon with Fire and Earth attacks as you can get.

Shoutmon with Rock Soul and BaoHuckmon with Wolkenapalm are two great attacker options, while Kiwimon can be a good support with the right Attachment Skills, like Revive, Aura, and Meditator.

You’ll also definitely want to bring a Digimon with a metal body to draw Lightning Strikes away from the boss. We recommend either Clockmon or Blimpmon, since they’re both Data Digimon.

Throughout the fight, make ample use of Aegiomon’s Heal to keep your party healthy. His Electricity-based attacks won’t be much help here, so he’s better suited as the dedicated healer for this fight. You’ll also be joined by Minervamon, but since she’s a Virus Digimon, her attacks don’t hit too hard.

However, if you cast Character Reversal on Minervamon, she’ll be treated like a Data Digimon, allowing her to deal extra damage to Parrotmon. If she then decides to use her unique skill, Strike Roll, while the boss is charging Mjolnir Thunder, you’ll be able to break the gauge a whole lot easier. Just be sure to refresh Reversal every few turns to keep Minerva as a Data Digimon.
