How to get all books in Stardew Valley

With the Stardew Valley 1.6 update you can now read a ton of new books, but how can you get them all? By reading these books you can upgrade your skills and unlock new features, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for them.

Stardew Valley: All books and how to get them

While most of these books come from the Bookseller, some are purchased or found in other ways. They’re all beneficial and will grant you new abilities or upgrades. Some of the purchasable ones are also available to find randomly, so look out for those as well.

Bait and Bobber Read this to gain some fishing experience. Bookseller, Artifact spots, fishing chests, and Golden Mystery Boxes. 5,000
Book of Stars Read this to gain some experience in all skills. Bookseller, and from Raccoons after request completion. 15,000
Book of Mysteries You have a slightly greater chance to find Mystery Boxes. Golden Mystery Boxes.
Combat Quarterly Read this to gain some combat experience. Bookseller, fishing chests, and Golden Mystery Boxes. 5,000
Dwarvish Safety Manual Bombs deal 25% less damage to you. Sold by Dwarf. 4,000
Friendship 101 You become friends with people a little faster Bookseller, and a prize from the Mayor’s prize machine. 20,000
Horse: The Book You gain a little extra speed when riding a horse. Bookseller. 25,000
Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Thick Gain +1 Defense. Bookseller, and Artifact spots. 20,000
Jewels Of The Sea Fishing treasure chests have a chance to yield roe. Bookseller, and fishing chests. 20,000
Mapping Cave Systems You get a 50% discount on Marlon’s item retrieval service. Inside a box at the back of the Adventurer’s Guild.
Mining Monthly Read this to gain some mining experience Bookseller, and Golden Mystery Boxes. 5,000
Monster Compendium Monsters have a small chance to drop double loot. Dropped by monsters.
Ol’ Slitherlegs You will now run a lot faster through grass and crops. Bookseller. 25,000
Price Catalogue You can now see the value of your items. Bookseller. 25,000
Queen Of Sauce Cookbook Learn any Queen Of Sauce recipes that you don’t already know. Bookseller. 10,000
Stardew Valley Almanac Read this to gain some farming experience. Bookseller, and a prize from the Mayor’s prize machine. 10,000
The Alleyway Buffet You have a greater chance to find items in the trash. Inside the Gold Trashcan hiding behind a hidden opening in the fence between Jojamart and the Blacksmith.
The Art O’ Crabbing Crab pots have a 25% chance to yield double. SquidFest reward.
The Diamond Hunter All stones have a chance to drop a diamond when mined by hand. Sold by Dwarf in the Volcano Dungeon. 10 diamonds
Treasure Appraisal Guide You will fetch a better price when selling artifacts. Bookseller, Artifact spots, and Mystery Boxes. 20,000
Raccoon Journal Weeds have a greater chance to yield mixed seeds. From Raccoons after request completion.
Way of The Wind pt. 1 You run a little bit faster. Bookseller. 15,000
Way of The Wind pt. 2 You run a little bit faster. Bookseller. 35,000
Woodcutter’s Weekly Read this to gain some foraging experience. Bookseller, Desert Festival, Traveling Cart, and randomly dropped from chopping trees. 8,000
Woody’s Secret Felled trees have a 5% chance to yield double the wood. Randomly dropped from chopping trees.

As you can tell, there are so many new books to discover and read in Stardew Valley that once you read them all, you’ll be incredibly buffed with better abilities. All of these books were introduced in the 1.6 update, and no matter if you start a new save or continue an old one, you can get these books.
