Credits make the galactic racing world go round in Star Wars Galactic Racer. The currency is basically used for pretty much everything you’ll want to do when it comes to improving your vehicle, be it purchasing parts to get new perks, unlocking new abilities to help attack other racers or defend your vehicle, or even repairing faults, it’s all going to set you back Credits. That’s why it’s important to earn as many Credits as you can, as quickly as possible in a Tour in Star Wars Galactic Racer, so you’re never left wanting and putting yourself at a disadvantage before an important race.
How to Get Credits Fast in Star Wars Galactic Racer
There are a few key ways to get Credits quickly in Star Wars Galactic Racer:
- Place highly in races
- Complete Backer contracts
- Win sidebets
- Take a risk with Mystery Encounters
- Race safe
Place Highly in Races
This first one is pretty self-explanatory, but for those who aren’t aware, the higher up the positions you finish in a race, the more Credits you’ll earn. You may also get additional rewards such as Upgrade Packs, parts, or abilities, so always do what you can to be at the top of the podium. Except for in certain circumstances that we’ll get onto a little bit later.
Complete Backer Contracts
Once you reach Act 2, you’ll be given the choice of different Backer contracts to take on. These essentially reward you with Credits for placing highly, but there are also bonus rewards on offer if you complete a Secondary Objective tied to the contract.
These can be things like spending a certain amount of time airborne during a planet’s races, or using your Ramjet for a set amount of time. Completing these will earn you a good chunk of credits on top of your normal race earnings, and again can come with some really handy rewards that you may otherwise have spent your Credits on.
Win Sidebets
Also starting in Act 2 once you’ve officially qualified for the Galactic League, is the Sidebets system. At the beginning of each race, you’ll be able to place a bet on whether or not you think you’ll beat another racer.
Each racer will have a predicted finish spot and an amount of Credits next to them. If you’ve been through a fair few Tours and are confident you can beat them, I’d always recommend going for the biggest Sidebet possible. These can equate to just as much, if not more than your race winnings if you’re successful. Over the course of a planet’s series of races, that adds up a lot!
Take a Risk with Mystery Encounters
Mystery Encounters aren’t guaranteed to net you more Credits, but there are some scenarios where you’re able to improve your race earnings or otherwise come into Credits more quickly than you otherwise would.
There is also the chance that your encounter is with a foe and you get punished both monetarily or on the track for something you do or say, so this is definitely more of a risk.
Race Safe
While I said above that you should always try and win every race, there are times where it’s important to just try and bring your vehicle home in one piece. Remember that if you use up all of your crashes during a race, your Tour is officially over and you’ll need to start again. When that happens, you lose all of your Credits, aside from those that you’ll get back from Hibi selling your vehicle.
More importantly, if you’re taking significant damage from crashes and one of your parts gets a fault, it’ll cost you to fix. These unnecessary costs can add up quickly, and while some faults can be ignored because their negative status effects aren’t that detrimental, others can have a major impact on your vehicle’s performance. The rewards might not be as much for finishing fourth, but it’ll be more than you’ll have if you win but need to spend Credits on repairing parts.
