How to get Stone Blocks in Nightingale

In Nightingale, you need to acquire some Stone Blocks to build your Estate Cairn to get yourself a proper lodging and upgrade from that tent of sticks. Here’s how to get some.

Mining Stone Blocks in Nightingale

If you’re anything like me, then you would have been confused that you need Stone Blocks for the Estate Cairn in Nightingale. Other games have conditioned us to believe that Stone Blocks are a refined ingredient, and not a raw material, like they are here in the Faewilds. I imagined I’d need to mine some Stone to turn into Stone Blocks, but that’s not the case.

To get some Stone Blocks, you need to grab your Makeshift Pickaxe and mine away at a stone deposit. You can’t just go hammer and tong at any stone you see, however, you need to make sure that it’s a stone deposit you can mine from.

When wandering around your spawn in Nightingale, inspect any stone you see around. You will be able to mine any stone deposit that has a green pickaxe icon appear in front of it, like shown below.

Once you’ve located one, you can use your Makeshift Pickaxe to mine it away. It should explode in no time. When it does, allow the debris to spray everywhere to reveal your treasure: Stone Blocks. Pick them up to claim them. Each deposit should net you at least a few Stone Blocks. You’ll need 5 to build the Estate Cairn.

Finding Stone Deposits in Nightingale

No matter the Realm that you stepped into after the series of Byways, every Realm has Stone Deposits in Nightingale. You may have noticed that you can’t just mine at any stone in the floor you see, so you’ll need to find some specific points.

Scouting for any emergeant rock that juts out of the ground is a good start. You should be able to find any outcrop of stone near where you spawned in. Upon finding one, look around for any small boulders or chunks of rock separate from the unmineable rock.

If a green – or red – pickaxe appears, then it’s a deposit that you can mine for goods. If a red pickaxe appears, that means you need a better quality pickaxe. In this case, a number should appear, which denotes the tier of pickaxe you need to harvest those minerals or resources.

Now that you know all about harvesting Stone Blocks in Nightingale, why don’t you learn about making a dedicated server?
